Ian,
I don't know how often you check into this forum. I have downloaded a number of your vehicles from UKTrainsim that would be appropriate for an American route. The work is excellent. Since there is a shortage of modern cars on US websites and UKTrainsim is difficult to access if you don't have a membership, I would like your permission to upload these projects to the www.train-sim.com library. I can't find an email address for you so I am contacting you here. Please send a private email (address below) or respond here. Thank you.Cal Rasmussen

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

Hi, and thanks for your comments. I don't have enough hours in the day to read all the forums any more, so thank you Mike for alerting me.I have posted a few models on train-sim before, but have kept the UK specific stuff for uktrainsim.com however, the road vehicles are multi-national. Would it be best to bundle them all together into a single download? There are about 50 of them in all.

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

It would be nice to get the whole package in one shot. The only consideration would be for those without a high speed connection and if the file ends up being too large. Perhaps you then could break it up by brand or function or era etc.Martyn T. Griffin

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

You mean 50 road veichles or 50 trains? If it is trains, don't bundle since it takes a lot of space. If it is the carspawners, I don't care whether you bundle or not.

We are talking about automobiles, trucks, and busses. Ian, if you want, I will go ahead and download the remaining vehicles, package them into one bundle and upload to train-sim.com. I don't think the bundled package will be too large. If it is, I will break it into two packages.Cal Rasmussen

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

OK, if you are happy to do the work, I am a little busy this week myself. They could be split into three packages to make it more manageable:
trucks (lorries),
buses,
automobiles (motor cars)Cheers.

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

I should also add that the car spawner .dat file entries specified in the various readme files are mostly incorrect. The number at the end of each line should be made bigger for all the buses and trucks to ensure correct spacing when they wait at level crossings. Could you perhaps make up a single block of car spawner file entries that can be cut and pasted into a route's car spawner .dat file with the correct values?

I'll take care of it.For those following this thread, I should have these files in the library in about a week. I need to download the files I don't already have, bundle them, add a couple of screenshots, and upload to the library. It all takes time along with all the other projects I'm doing. Oh, yeah, I heard that Christmas is coming up. That sure screws up the MSTS work schedule!! LOL!Cal Rasmussen

I have just downloaded all the files. There are 7 busses, 23 cars and 18 trucks. I tried zipping each category and the total size of the zip files is 19.8 mb! I am going to have to either upload each one individually or break them up into about ten groups. Any suggestions?Cal Rasmussen

RE: ianm42 or Ian Morgan

Keep the busses in one group. Split the trucks into two groups (random is good enough). The cars can make 2-3 groups. That should be 4-6 mb per file, acceptable by comparison to a great many other usefull files in the library.Martyn T. Griffin
