I have a small harddrive with Windows 2000 and a larger harddrive with windows 98. MSTS is installed on the larger HD, but I want to work in the smaller HD. I've created a shortcut on the smaller HD that will operate TS, but I haven't been able to make a shortcut to the Route Editor. Is it possible to operate RE on one HD while MSTS is installed on the other? I tried calling Microsoft, they meant well, but they almost cost me a years worth of work on my Donner Pass. :-( Then they sent me here. I should have come here first.:-) Thanks, LG
A shortcut to Launch.exe will work only if I am in that same harddrive. A shortcut to train.exe will work if I am in either HD. That is the one that I use. My problem is that they only get me to TrainSim and allow me to run the trains. I would like a shortcut to Route Editor/Tools. Thanks, LG
Larry,1st try, copy the icons from 98 to w2k, but you have to change the drive letter from C to D.2nd try, reinstall TS from w2k but pointed to the other disk, that way the registry and the icons will be set up correctly.Derek
Derek, I'll try that after I backup Trainset, Consists, and my new route. Anything else I should backup just in case? Thanks and have a happy Turkey-day. LG
