I have been installing crossings on The PRR Middle Division and find that the Crossing gates appear to be dummies (unless I am missing something). The trackage on the PRR is both triple and double tracked. Has any one activated the crossing gates in the tripple track level crossing? I realize that some one developed a real set of crossing signals, but am uncertain as to whether they can be used at a triple or double tracked section. Any comment on this would be appreciated. Thanks.mike Dimaio http://www.trainstuff.com
Crossing signals can be used with up to 4 tracks.Unfortunately, there's a 6-track crossing (thankfully, only one!) on my route. If anyone can figure out how to hack the crossing signals to handle larger crossings, please let me know.Bruce Bridges
Are you referring the the gates built into MSTS or the customized ones within the Train sim-library?. please clarify your commenst. I know the ones built in seem to work, but not the crossing gates. http://www.trainstuff.com
From what I understand (by fiddleing around) is that the cars stop at the gates. Put a orange box at the fifth track and bring the gate to the other gate. sink the gate into the ground. Don't howl at me if I'm wrong though! Thanks! DavidPagesWeb
I wish I could help you, unfortunately there are not many crossings along the NEC here in Philadelphia so I haven't had a whole lot of practice in using them. I have used them on my test route, but the widest crossing I used them on was only two tracks wide and used the default crossing gates. Sorry I can't be of much help here, but good luck on figuring out how to solve the problem. George.
