Does anyone have the magic combination of track pieces to make a narrow gauge wye using XTracks? Have speent all afternoon trying to build one but just cant get it to close. Thanks for any help, Bill
I have used this one several times...http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=6175&forum=DCForumID6&archive=#8On the straight section, with the inclusion of the 0.3m track piece in more recent releases of Xtracks, the "two 60m's, one 6m, and seven 1.6m's" could probably be replaced with "two 60m's, two 6m's, one 3m, one 1.6m, and two 0.3m's", but this only saves two track pieces. Try not to have adjacent 0.3m pieces, since in that area you will have no ties.It isn't really magic, just an exercise in "Edisonian Engineering". regards, charlie
Thanks Charlie, I will try to make one tonight. I just discovered that the Uintah used all stub switches (at least in the yard) so I am going to make one according to your instructions, to gain experience, and then try one with stub switches. If I can get the stub switch one to work I will use it, otherwise I can fall back on the regular switch versionHas anyone here done a NG XTrack stub switch wye?If anyone is interested in some Uintah history, and the current rolling stock restoration, go to my site at http://home.attbi.com/~bpratt15/Bill
Wow, it is my lucky day. I got charlie's regular switch NG wye OK and then made my NG stub switch wye. It may have a few too many .3m and 1.6m pieces but am not going to wory about that. I plan to put it in Mack, CO which is pretty flat so don't anticipate any problems with it.Guess if I don't get Demex to merge my DEMs it will stay perfectly flat. Bill
