>Neat.

>What area of the US is that? Now, now, now. I have given LOTS of clues already. >I assume that is DEM'd landscape? Yes. AND with distant mountains! That's what *really* brings out the natural beauty of the route.Lawrence

That woul be on BNSF's Scenic Sub. The mileposts place it between Baring and Gold Bar Wa. on the west slope of the Cascade Range. Former Great Northern mainline. That looks like Mt. index in the background. Looking good Lawrence!Jeff

RE: BNSF, Line Segment 37, MP 1747-1746

>Lawrence: was just on that line last week - looking good!
>Just need a few hundred thousand trees and you'll be in
>business. Clearly, I have used Dem-ex. I am also using satellite photos and topographical maps for the marker creation/placement. It is so accurate, that an area that came up with a raised track bed (after using Dem-ex), the markers were smack down the center of that raised bed! Oh, and I have the track plans for the route. The ground texture, even though a little high on the saturation, is really quite accurate of the long-distance colors of the hills. In other words, even though the "near" areas are a little saturated, the distant mountains are right on.Trees? Certainly. I have to use discretion in that, but they will be as close as possible. Again, satellite photos to the rescue. So, you were up here. Wish I had of known. It would have been great to actually meet you, if possible. I live in that area, in fact, I drive some of the adjacent highway every week. Lawrence

If I liked that stuff I would say that it looks great, but I'm not so I'll say that it looks good
