When rebuilding tdb and rdb, should the .tit file and backup be deleted along with .tdb and .rdb and backups?Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, ORColumbia Gorge Route (Blasting tunnels near Lyle, Washington)
I did that and lost all siding, platforms car spawners etc. Those were left intact when I did the rebuilds by just checking the rebuild box in the start screen.
I have seen numerous posts indicating that the .tdb and .rdb files and backups should be deleted or often the rebuild doesn't do anything. I also thought I had seen some posts indicating that the .tit and backup should be deleted.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, ORColumbia Gorge Route (Blasting tunnels near Lyle, Washington)
I only delete the *.bk files, nothing more. Then I rebuild the database. I have never had an error or serious setback by doing this. By deleting those *.bk files, it will stop reloading certain files that are not needed from before. I have done this dozens of times without errors.Kip 3DTS Route Developer 3dtrainstuff.com The Priest River Railroad"...it's so fictional, it's almost real" PRRR WesiteComing this fall: PRRR's Hoodoo Pass Route
I used the rebuild as an error checking function(which is definitely needed!). It did something, because after one rebuild there was 3 dyn-tracks moved and that caused blue poles. Those were laid just before the rebuild. After placing the signals I haven't rebuild the tdb and of course it has lots of errors.
I wouldn't even rebuild at all unless I absolutely had to. The biggest problems I had with my route were when I did a "routine rebuild" for no reason other than preventive maintenance. I haven't rebuilt in several months now and have had zero problems. If you do rebuild it, Enocell is correct in that it will erase all your interactive objects such as siding markers, platforms, etc...Jeff Leslie
I think I have all the track problems on Columbia Gorge fixed. Trains are running without crashing (no reference to driver!) all scenery is present, distant mountains is working. In other words, everything is back to normal. At this point, I am going to take the approach "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, ORColumbia Gorge Route (Blasting tunnels near Lyle, Washington)
