ok this has been bothering me for some time, some of you that know the Actual building know that the one Microsoft gave us doesn't even come close.i have been looking on the web for Drawings of the Structure with no luck only Length and width that's it. and as i recall Microsoft has it set up as an 8 track station, well to be Accurate it's actually 10 Tracks going through it with a siding which makes it 11 tracks and there are also 5 PlatformsSo what this request is for is Accurate drawings "if there out there" or if not I'll have to take some shots of the building "Which im planning on anyway to help along the way30th Street Station – image 2Researching the Northeast Corridor Philadelphia Subdivision, and trying to get info on Port Richmond Terminal (Reading Railroad)

RE: 30th Street Station

And just think, Microsoft was working directly with Amtrak and had there full support in designing the NEC route lol It sounds like you are planning on building an entirely new 30th Street Station Bob, I hope so anyway because it would be a great improvement over the default one. If you do make sure you add the Septa terminal on the second level so we can actually have Septa trains without having to drive them through a concrete wall to get to the platform.

>with being 21 tracks wide IRL.. If you're talking about NY Penn, then yep, it's 21 Tracks, shared by Amtrak, NJ Transit (first 13/14) and the MTA Long Island Rail Road (tracks 13-21)Stuart D. Guberman

RE: 30th Street Station

im also going to have some Custom objects in this route, when i need em I'll create them such as Over passes... since the ones within the game do not really look good for this area, and the High Line it self im going to construct a trestle like structure for that. And I'll also need a Retaining wall since there are 2 tracks "Well the roadbed is still there anyway" that follow the Commuter Rails then go under then and re Connect to the NEC past 30th street stationyes i have a lot planned but i have also been Researching a lot as well and im pretty much to the Point where i want to get started on a Stand alone version then when Vince does release his version then I'll start on thatResearching the Northeast Corridor Philadelphia Subdivision, and trying to get info on Port Richmond Terminal (Reading Railroad)

RE: 30th Street Station

I think you and I have "spoken" a few times on matters Philadelphian.Aside from leaving out the cave exploring experience of being under 30th Street Kuju(Cujo) left out about a million acres of concrete and steel as well as our beloved Post Office...Must have been way cool back when the Pennsy actually delivered mail.Anyway, in all my searching, I cannot remember anything other than photos of 30th Street. I've come across a few railroad post cards from different eras but no drawings or plans. The pictures I have seen or collected show things I didn't know. There used to a roundhouse, and the yard was MUCH larger. The Post Office is much newer than I expected. It was built after the station. Unfortunately all the photos I have still don't present a full picture. There would be much fudging. One comical note...When I created the original trainshed for Harrisburg it was "transparent" from inside. I didn't think anything of it. Having spent a lot of time in Kuju's version of 30th Street I thought it was "normal". When everybody said "Hey your trainshed has a transparent roof!" I thought, "Yea, and so? Isn't it supposed to be that way?".I always meant to go back and do a "correct" 30th Street. One where Market Street actually heads east and the tracks are buried in that cavern under the station, post office and GE building, and the view of the river is through little openings under the Expressway...Just like home! Unfortunately two things happened...The correct topography from DEMs of the area buries the tracks clear down to Wilmington aside from small details like 30th faces the wrong direction, the Schuylkill's in the wrong place, etc...And I started to get other projects. Now I'm way over in Mount Union, trying to duplicate that station instead.I'll keep an eye out for drawings or info on both 30th Street and Port Richmond.Frank Musick

RE: 30th Street Station

well i guess im gonna have to go get some shots of the station from all angles and go from there although this site http://www.chesco.com/~apu/prr/prr_30.html helps on the Length and so on but pictures will be able to help in getting it accurate, oh and it will not have a "See Through Roof" like the old one Researching the Northeast Corridor Philadelphia Subdivision, and trying to get info on Port Richmond Terminal (Reading Railroad)
