Thanks Jeff and to all of you who helped me with this route. Tried your suggestions, but still no go. I had XTracks installed wrong. This was one of the messages I got on my last post. I re-installed XTracks and everything seems to be working fine. When I select the Newark route and click start the terrain buffers generate fine, no more material pallette error. Then it starts to setup the simulation, everything is fine until it gets to the point where it reads........"establishing world space and content",it locks up, freezes, this is just before it reads "initialization and loading complete". When it locks up at "establishing world space and content", The microsoft error message comes up, you know send, don't send. Can anyone help me with this problem so I can get this route going? Also, how do I respond to all of you to let you know if your solutions are working for me? I hope that I have no more errors with the Newark, This has been the toughest route for me to get going. Thanks again for your help.

How do you respond is easy, just click on the reply link at the bottom of the last post.
As for why it still don't work for you, what are your system specs?Tower case, 350 watt power supply
Three 80mm 12v case fans
Motherboard: ASUS A7A-266
Processor: AMD Palimino XP1600+
Memory: 768MB PC-2100 DDR RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti-4400 128MB AGP (detonator 30.82)
Hard disk: WD Caviar Ultra ATA-100 7200rpm 80 gig hd 8mb buffer
Sound: Creative SB 512 PCI
OS: Windows 98 Second Edition, build 2222, DX 8.1
NNJ runs fine on that one;Tower case, 300 watt power supply
Motherboard: ASUS A7A-266
Processor: AMD Thunderbird 1.4GHZ (underclocked to 1050mhz)
Memory: 128 MB PC133 SDRAM
Video: GEFORCE 2 GTS/PRO 64MB AGP (Detonator 21.81)
Hard disk: WD Caviar ATA-66 5400rpm 13 gig hd
Sound: none (test rig)
OS: Windows 98 Second Edition, build 2222, DX 8.1It will also run on that, but when I change the video card to one with only 16mb of video RAM;Tower case, 300 watt power supply
Motherboard: ASUS A7A-266
Processor: AMD Thunderbird 1.4GHZ (underclocked to 1050mhz)
Memory: 128 MB PC133 SDRAM
Video: 3Dfx Voodoo 3-2000 16mb PCI
Hard disk: WD Caviar ATA-66 5400rpm 13 gig hd
Sound: none (test rig)
OS: Windows 98 Second Edition, build 2222, DX 8.1It locks up at "Establishing world space and content". I traced that to the DV blast furnace, any route that uses the DV blast furnace fron the file library won't run on a 16mb video card, since it uses a 1024x1024 pixel texture that's too big for the old video cards to process.
If you have an older video card (and I don't know if this applies to 32 meg cards or not, I have 64 or 16 meg cards to test with, but no 32 meg cards), you could try this patch for the dv blast furnace;http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d987249440e71a3.zip
Click on that to download it, extract it to the \USA_NNJ (whatever it's called, I forgot) folder, then try the route again.

RE: Newark & Jersey City RR, Thanks all, one more quest

The route seems to need at least 32 MB of video ram. I tested it with 400 MHz AMD K6-2 with 256 Mb ram and 32M Ati rage 2000. The game/route worked fine, except very sl o w w...
Highest frame rate was 8 with all sliders near minimum. Graphics were horribly ugly, trees shining through buildings, some track sections had alpha on and some didn't etc. But not a single error message.

RE: Newark & Jersey City RR, Thanks all, one more quest

I appreciates all the help i have received from everyone. I defragmented the drive with msts. The NJC route is loading now. FINALLY! I guess with all the scenery it takes a while to load. What do I do about repeating sounds. For example, when I sound the diesel loco horn it repeats over and over, It must be stuck in a loop.
Thanks,

You still haven't posted your system specs yet. Not that it would necessarily be a big help, with all the horsepower I got I still get sounds dropping out when switching views, and occasional looping.
