Excellent web site. I've driven or walked about every foot of the RGS during the 60's. Most of my research material is packed but the Colorado Museum has a ton of stuff. If I'm not mistaken, most of the old right of way can be seen on topos. Try Topozone and see how much of it can be re-constructed.
Looks like you're getting some good and useful tips. My exposure to the RGS is limited to first hand exploration of existing roadbed, along with the ongoing "RGS Story" series of hardback books. The books include mile by mile track data charts... but the cost to purchase all the volumes at once would be prohibitive.I'd like to be one of the ones to urge you onward. The RGS would be super neat MSTS line to model and to enjoy. Would it be possible to see some screen pics of your fledgling route?Andre Ming

I get amazing stuff through ILL. And, it's not just because I'm the network engineer for a library system either. A good ILL service can get you microfilm, copies of articles and journals and books that are very difficult to find.
Hi jon.....I would love to see a screenshot if you have one? I actually live relativley close to the RGS. Good luck with it!!If you have a large cash reserve I would HIGHLY recommend buying the RGS story series from the Colorado Railroad Museum. Incredible detail of the entire RGS line. (www.crrm.org). Take Care Nick
