I downloaded the route, and ran the installme.bat file. Started msts, went to drive a train, selected this route. Tiles were generated and the route started to load, the route loaded about 75% and the MICROSOFT ERROR MESSAGE was generated. The route did not load. I uninstalled the route and re-installed the route with the same error message. I have read on the route design forum that this is a great route. Can someone help me so I can see the route to, or will there be a patch to fix this? Thanks
Not sure why you are having the problems you are having. Installed fine for me last night. Did take awhile to generate the route initially but worked fine. What are the specs of your computer? Do you have all 6 original routes on your computer? Did you see the batch file running? Need a little more information to try to help. Are you running XP? I have XP, and it worked fine. Maybe someone else has a better idea of the problem. It is a route with much detail so could be your video card. Hope you get it figured out because it is a very excellent route. I would try it again and make sure the entire batch file runs. Check in your new folder and see if everything looks right.Tim The Spur Line http://tahunter.net Appalachia RR - Midwest & Rocky Mountain RR - ADFRR Route
I had a similar problem, but did not get as far as that, I got the send/don't send message on the MSTS initial loading screen. Yes, I had run Installme.bat (I wrote the thing in any case)... This was on an Athlone 1.33gHz machine with 625 meg ram.To test the route, I copied it on my LAN to my backup machine, a Pentium 400 with 256 meg ram. This one worked fine (although too slow to be used).I already had 20 routes installed on my original machine, and these all worked fine.Yesterday, I moved all my routes to a spare folder, reinstalled MSTS with update, copied all my routes back including the N&J, and everything worked fine. I have no idea what the problem was, but it now works fine, and I must say it is the best 'City' type route I have ever seen.
Considering that this was the first Xtracks route, it must have slipped his mind and he didn't include the requirement in the description, but you do have to download and install Xtracks 3.3 to get it to work.
Hi Jim, X-tracks are mention in both the delvelopers forum & the read me. Newark & Jersey City Railroading 1.0 formerly known as Hoboken Shore RR and Newark & New Jersey Installation: 1. Install Xtracks 3.1 or later by OkrasaGhia. It can be found from www.train-sim.com file area. 2. Unzip all 5 files to trainsim/ROUTES dir. Usa_NJC directory will be made 3. Run installme.bat in usa_NJC 4. Start the game More info can be found at Rich Garber's site. Not yet updated as I wrote this. http://www.edmfamily.com/msts/ts_usa_nnj_site.html --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Most of Jersey City and Newark area waterfront included , PRR terminal in Jersey City could not be made because of the tile size problem, but PRR Greenville terminal is included. The powerplant in Weehawken is not there in real life, that's sure as the real one is in London, UK. Signals are now added, the yard do not have signals(except in few places). Industry names and locations should be (almost) real. The info is gathered from various sources which are from different eras. Some examples, most info found because of pollution:-( http://www.lvrrmodeler.net/ http://www.state.nj.us/dep/enforcement/relprev/dpcc/document/majorfac.htm http://www.cqs.com/super_nj.htm http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/arcsites/njarclst.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Sounds: I edited the background sounds to a bit louder, and there's custom sounds in some places. Seagulls and small waves sounds included(made by Stephen Thompson) The Blue Oyster tune is from Police Academy (the bar is now located in Elizabeth, next to An Cor Lox sidings.) Other sounds, like the airplanes, ambulance are found from the internet. The "brewery" sound is made by me. The crashing sound in some places was taken from Finnish comedy show, a guy was giving a lecture but it didn't end well. He was "moving" the board as you can hear... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Activities: Please follow this rule in consist naming, so it will ease everybody's life, as it will be easy to locate all consists belonging to this route and it's also easier to place consists in activity editor (hit 'N' in the consist list, no need to scroll through 1000 consists). I also recommend to use this kind of naming to the activity files. Please create consist file names in format NJC_<company>-<activity> <identity>.con Like this: NJC_HMRR-1 YardCut1.con where NJC_ = route ID HMRR = Hoboken Shore RR -1 = activity number #1, can also be a name instead of number YardCut = consist identity or another example: NJC-LV-1 Player.con belongs to an activity called LV-1 and is the player's consist. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Troubleshooting and bug reporting: Check the Route Design forum at www.train-sim.com before mailing me, I will post help & other info there if needed(so I don't have to answer dozens of times to same questions...) and others can get the same info. enocell@hotmail.com or teemu.saukkonen@kolumbus.fi PLEASE REPORT BUGS! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Credits: Created by Me with help from members at www.train-sim.com Note: You can freely use my models (starting with '7' or 'Billboard') in your own route. You can also change the company names, 99% of them located in 7Logos1, 7Logos2 and 7Logos3.ace. Few names are in their respective ace files, mostly in route-specific buildings. You can also ask the TSM source files if you want remap or customize the models. Xtracks by OkrasaGhia, available at trainsim file area. Compression made with RouteRiter (by Mike Simpson). The batch file is customized because of my edits/fixes for the original textures. I also had to add some additional night textures for the default models.
