I have just uploaded a group of six 1920's houses to the library. They were built for the Kains Depot area of my London and Port Stanley ( Ontario Canada ) route but I am sure many others could use them.EnjoyWayne

As soon as there are some decent modern ranch homes, and some small commercial buildings, the Conrail Indianapolis Line will receive a major facelift!

They look excellant! As soon as they are available I intend on using them. We need more buildings than rolling stock in my opinion, and these look great.

Lookin real neat
I've got a couple of Chicago suburban tract houses(circa 1958) in the works, Railbaron is cranking out some small town main street structures.
BTW Mike would some CGW style switchstands be of interest to you?
finaly got the flickering problem hashed out so the first batch of mainline stands are just about done.

I would love the CGW style switch stands! It would not matter if they operated or not. The tract houses would be great too.

RE: 1920's Houses for the Library

Wayne;Very nice work. Those will find spots on the IC route as soon as I can get my hands on them. I'm constructing two small towns, Bethany and Sullivan Il this week hoping to get all 40 miles from Decatur to Mattoon completely sceniced. I'm just about halfway done.

RE: 1920's Houses for the Library

Thanks to all for the kind comments. My route is set in the 1920's so I don't think I can help with more modern houses. I am looking forward to seeing some screenshots of the models in place on your routes.ThanksWayne

RE: 1920's Houses for the Library

Don:I just took a look at your web page for the L&PS. My oh my... that's top notch virtual modeling. Your texture blending and smooth, natural looking terrain contouring is some of the best I've seen. Excellent work. You know, with routes like this, the GM&O, and others in the works or out now, the level of quality in virtual modeling just keeps getting better and better.Andre "Coonskin" Ming

RE: 1920's Houses for the Library

Hey Wayne,I was wondering what program you used to make these houses?I use tsm...I was thinking,...would you mind if I used some of these textures to make a burning house? If that idea sounds good to you this is what I propose...if you did these in TSM, then send me the projects files...if not, if you allow me to use the textures then I can create a house in tsm with openings where the windows are and a hole in the roof......I would then set up and animated fire effect behind the windows and a shooting flames effect out of the hole in the roof.....I could also do a "crosshairs" type transparency to simulate smoke rising above the house. I would open your textures in paintshop and airbrush in some soot and charring effects on the houses exterior textures...Anyways...lemme know what you think about the idea!!!Longhairedwizardbbzak@msn.com

RE: 1920's Houses for the Library

I'm going to try my hand at creating some early 20th century Sears catalog homes for use in Train Sim. I got the idea after I stumbled across an old Bachman kit I have of one, and seeing a reprint of one of Sears's old catalogs in the Villa Park Historical Society Museum. Some of these homes were really classy looking and it was neat how they came to you; you placed your order, then you got one or two car loads of precut lumber marked with what went where that you or someone else assembled on site. (Sort of like a 1to 1 scale Craftsman kit!) Also, keep an eye out in the next few days for my small town movie house which is about done. I'll be offering it in several varients starting with a 1904-1919 silent film theatre, then will have other eras represented by changing the marquee style as well as things on the building. I've found a couple of neat sites where I've been able to download actual old movie posters that I'm going to use, so here's what you can look forward to:
1920's:
Looking for Posters, any ideas on what you'd like to be playing?
1930's:
Captain Blood
Legend of Robin hood
Casablanca
Gone with the Wind
1940's
Some War flicks, Theatre decked out as USO Canteen
1950's
THE BLOB
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Some Giant Bug flick I forgot the name of
1960's
James Bond in Thunderball
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
1970's
Star Wars1980's
No films, might do theatre as closed and boarded up or serving as church
1990's
TitanicIf there's a certain movie you'd care to see, let me know.Don
