Hi, does anybody know if (a few joined) track database lines can be deleted? If so, would they be deleted from the track-database file?In deleting the corresponding few pieces of track, I kept getting that quote-unquote 'can't select adjacent track piece' message, but eventually I was able to delete them (phew!).But now I can't get rid of these now-trackless track database lines, and I've an awful hunch that these trackless TD lines pose a risk to my expansion of the route. Rebuilding TD doesn't work. I've poured over the previous (i.e., back-up) and current corresponding world-tile and track-database files -- four in all -- but I can't pinpoint the text of the corresponding trackless TD lines.Oh yeah, would somebody please tell me the purpose of the 'tsection' file?I'd appreciate your help big time.
I've had this happen to me many, many times. What I do is I delete all the files in my routes' folder that has the extension *.bk, then I rebuild the track database. From what I've experienced and was told is that when you have track errors like that you need to delete the *.bk files as well so that the program won't retreive the data and place it in the dat files. I have never (and probably won't), ever edit the track database file. I know by looking into the DAT files, that after deleteing the *.bk and then rebuild the track database, the track data base is overwritten. As for the tsection file, not sure. Looks to me like angled coordinate placement data.Kip The Priest River Railroad"...it's so fictional, it's almost real" PRRR WesiteComing this fall: PRRR's Hoodoo Pass Route
Thanks for the suggestion. I must confess that I've already placed signals around a couple of junctions, and -- from an earlier thread I've read in this forum -- I'm certain this is why I still cannot rebuild my TD file. For me, I'm using too many unique-functioning signals -- placed upon gantries at that -- to delete only to replace them after having rebuilt the TD file. I'll take my chances...........
If you are referring to the tsection.dat file in the route folders, that contains the psuedo track section data associated with dynamic track pieces used in the route.Martyn T. Griffin griffinmt@mindspring.com
