RE: Refinery Parts II available (3 pictures)

The wait seems worth it.I assume the following:1) Kit 1 and Kit 2 each have unique parts, so you need to download both
2) They can get unzipped into the same working structure and any duplicate filenames are actually identical files. Thanks for the hard work,

RE: Refinery Parts II available (3 pictures) CAUTION!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-12-02 AT 11:31 PM (EDT)

CAUTION......I had/have trouble with the refinery part II. When I did the install all the .s and .sd files unzipped fine into the shapes folder. Unzipping the .ace files, I got several questions asking to overwrite existing .ace files in the folder. I did this, which overwrote the older .ace files from the first refinery parts set.Next, go to start MSTS and go into the route in which I've used the refinery I parts successfully (built myself a small refinery at the end of Shelby on Marias3). As soon as I do, I get a complete reboot of my entire computer system. After a reboot, try to go to MSTS and start it.....reboot. Any help will be appreciated.billJUDGING FROM THE POSTS ABOVE...WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ANDRE THE DEVELOPER, I'M THE ONLY ONE SO FAR WHO'S MADE THIS UPDATE? HMMMM...A CORRELATION TO THE PROBLEM?

RE: Refinery Parts II available (3 pictures) CAUTION!

Strange, Jan, the developer, and I, the tester, checked it and everything worked fine. I also saw screenshots from others which used part II including the Ohio Rail route and there was no mention of this problem.I tested it on a part of the Settle & Carlisle route where i have put all objects from our site for testing and did i think exactly what you did. 2 weeks ago i build a refinery with set no 1. Then I build some other things around it. And yesterday after receiving the files i copied the directories into my route and started building, without any problem.
Overwriting the files should not be the cause of it. I will check what's happening.

RE: Refinery Parts II available (3 pictures) CAUTION!

I'm not excusing myself as a possibility here. It just got too late last night to try to troubleshoot this thing. I went back into the .ref file and took out the newly added lines and then went and removed the .s and .sd files from the shapes folder and the .ace files from the textures folder. The change would allow MSTS to boot up again but the problem would occur when I went into try and bring up the Marias3 route (which is where I had addded my refinery). Some times I could get it to run (without the latest refinery2 parts) and other times not. The other odd thing was that my typical screen resolution had changed back to the default 640x480, so something in a major MSTS (data or .ini or .cfg) file had been affected. I'll have more time to troubleshoot it this weekend. bill

RE: Refinery Parts II available (3 pictures) CAUTION!

Okay....it turns out the problem ultimately was a corrupted video driver file somewhere (I have an NVidia graphics card running Windows XP). Anyhoooo, after doing the move files-uninstall-reinstall-move files back routine...I kept getting spontaneous reboots of my system and XP's requisite diskcheck, etc. Finally, I got an error message that XP had detected a problem with a corrupted video driver. After that, I uninstalled the old driver set, rebooted in VGA mode (which XP has as a troubleshooting method) and downloaded and installed new NVidia GeForce drivers. What's next? Add back the refinery parts I and II and rebuild my refinery. It got scrapped when I dumped my Marias3 route thinking that was the problem. Oh well, I needed more experience with the route editor anyhow!bill

HI Andre, First I want to thank you for the great refinery parts. They are fantastic. However, never having seen one in person and although you have posted some nice pictures of it, can you give me some specific information as to how it all goes together? Like a schematic or something? If you could do that I would be more than appreciative. You can email me at tim@tahunter.net if you are able to help me here. Thanks Andre, and again, excellent job!TimRefinery Parts II available (3 pictures) – image 10
