Poof!! and it stops working with the error message: "remove_end_end, one non_vector, one vector."It's been awhile since I got this, what might be the culprit? I've isolated the tile with the problem out of many, many in the route. The route loaded and rebuilds just fine when I removed this world file. Put it back in and everything turns to s*%t. I recall wyes can do this, but I removed them via the world file, but that didn't fix the problem. Those d*@n things are the work of the devil!!Unfortunately, it's a biggy and I would like to recover as much of it as possible. The strange thing is that I haven't done anything on this tile in a long time and suddenly it goes south.Probably all it takes is one bum save. Thanks Hank
Sometimes this happens to me when I have Dynamic track in the tile of concern. I have corrected this in 2 ways. The first one was what you did; I went into the extractor, deleted the offending tile and made a new one....but that only worked if I deleted the dynamic track on the tile or made a new one. Very weird, I know, I've done this 4 times already and each time involved "bad" (they're all bad to me) dynamic track settings. This could be part of your problem, might not, knowing RE. Check it out....see what happens. If not, may have to reflag the tiles....not sure. Never had to go that far. I am assuming that you are getting message during a Track Database Rebuild in Advance RE. The only suggestion I can give is this: When it stops and gives you the error message check your camera position: one; it will give the tile you are on which you already know: second: it will give the corr., lon. and lat. when it crashed. This may be the actual location of the offensive item.LOLSafe and happy railroading Tom (harby46) HarbisonA thought: if you halfto replace the tile, try memoving the active one and re-establishing the bakup tile in the world folder. You will only lose the changes made since you did a last save!LOL
I recovered my route recently from the dreaded "remove_end_end, one non_vector, one vector" error. The RE crashed in the middle of a save and I was left with tracks with blue poles that would bomb the RE if you touched em. I removed them via wordpad but that didn't clean up the tdb, it just removed the graphic enabling me to reroute around the blue poles. I ran it that way for a long time until I tried to rebuild the tdb, thats when I got the "remove_end_end...". I was pissed because all my back-ups had the blue pole problem. To clean up the tdb I ended up deleting every item on the infected tile, then rebuilt the tdb. It worked ok and I haven't had any problems since. If I had it to do over I would try deleting only the tracks, track objects, roads and car spawners first. If it rebuilds then you don't lose everything on the tile, if it don't run the item count to zero and try again. Good luck man!
Thank you for the tips. Every trip through this cycle, I learn something new. I tried looking at the place where the rebuild stopped and found a bad section. I replaced it with some different trackage and was able to save the rest of the tile, which had some 700 items on it.The strange part is the bad section was a standard piece, A2t2000r10d or something like that. This route has a zillion pieces of X-Tracks in double slips and x-overs and not one of those have been a problem though the dozen or so DB rebuilds I had to perform to recover the route. And except for the infected tile, all the signals, mileposts and stations survived, but I may have to reset the signal links. Now another matter; how do you get rid of blue poles that appear in the middle of nowhere and have no track image?Hank
The way I did it was delete every object on the tile before rebuilding, but if you can successfully rebuild the tdb then I would just leave it alone. Mine would stop cold in the middle of the rebuilding so I was forced to take drastic measures. I was lucky tho the tile was near Summit station and had about 80 objects.
