Linie U1 Subway Route

Need some help here. I just installed Linie U1 version 1.1
When trying to use the only activity it crashed & gave me a Activity out of date must be re-saved. Since I have never had experiance with re-saving an activity, can some give me a step by step.
Thanks for any help you can provide. My Computer specs are in my profile

Hi,Resafing an Activity is in fact rather simple.Fire up the Activity Editor, choose File > Open, choose the Route, open the Activities Folder and doubleclick the Activity File.Now choose File > Save or if that is grayed out, try Compute and Save.
Altering something in Edit Activity Description (button on the right) can also help to activate the Save function.Now choose File > Exit Editor and close the Editors and Tools window. Dick van den Hoven

Thanks for the info. I did as you instructed & it got rid of the "re-save" error msg. However when I load the activity it, after loading in, freezes before displaying the briefing screen. Explore the route works just fine. My Computer specs are in my profile

Hee-hee, maybe you oughtta explain to Sjoerd Ydema the difference between English language "Required" and "Reccomended", Dick. "The installation of Xtracks is highly recommented.", yeah, I'd highly recommend something too if it won't work without it!

Do you have any take on this problem with the activity? When I had version 1.0 there were no problems Only in version 1.1 My Computer specs are in my profile

Hi,Can it be that the Activity has a broken path? If the switches are changed in version 1.1 and the Activity is for version 1, then is this possible.Dick van den Hoven

The activity file seems to be a new one. It is a larger file than 1.0. As for broken paths I would not know if there were any, as my experience with tools have been limited to the consist editor & the fix you showed me.

Hi,I have installed the Route and resaved the Activity. Well it's running fine on my machine. It is not my cup of tea, but that's off topic. So I still have no clue what can be wrong with your install.I discovered an other error, but that is related to the U-bahn cars, that are needed for this Activity. When stopping at the station the message "Press Enter, etc." doesn't show up.To correct this error add to all the .eng files of the U-bahn car, this line in the Wagon section. Just above the Lights is a nice place:PassengerCapacity (100)Dick van den Hoven

Well I have re-installed this route 6 times. I still get the same results. I ment to ask you before, when you go to the activity editor, I had to click on the ok box from the error msg. about re-saving many times before it would leave. I then opened the files as you outlined, & changed the easy to medium & then clicked save.
Re-booted then fired up train-sim. selected activity & the route loaded with a freeze frame showing the A-I trains track etc. But no briefing display. From there to crash. I know you said that it worked for you. This is the most trouble I have ever had with an activity. Any thoughts? My Computer specs are in my profile

Hi,If I had any thoughts, I would have told them. I have had this things with other routes and specially some months ago when I had much more routes and much more engines and cars.
But it still happened from time to time. Last time I had this with the MCT, drove a little bit in Explore Route and bam froozen! To me no problem, the route is in the trashcan before he knows.
And IMHO this route is not really a loss, when you don't have it. Short line, only thing you can do is run from begin to the end. No switches, nothing.
I will trash this route. I don't like tunnels. Dick van den Hoven

Yeah, I got the same problem, haven't installed it yet, can't troubleshoot. I did install the first one, and it didn't show up in the selection, so I suspected it needed Xtracks and deleted it. That was later confirmed when other people had the same problem with the route not showing up in the selection menu, and installing Xtracks 3.2 fixed it for them. I can't have Xtracks active at the moment since I'm working on a non-Xtracks route, lay one piece of dynamic track and wham, your non-Xtracks route is now an Xtracks route. I'm also working on a way to have more than one track texture in a route without Xtracks, so it's gonna be a while before I can re-install Xtracks to check out the subway. Speaking of which, anybody heard from Chris Cyko recently? I'm chompin' at the bit to run a Chicago subway!
