How many of you would download our routes, using xtracks, or how many would download using the default MSTS track. Right now, we are leaning towards Xtracks so we can avoid the coupler breaking problems. I am in the process of ordering a couple more resource tools we need before I start on the route. Also, Would you like to see a complete route, or something simular to the IC route? (small releases with scenery, track will be fully completed)Thanks,

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

There is a very simple formula for getting XTracks to work on any computer, be it for a route builder or not: Follow the directions. Lawrence

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

Stay with XTracks all the way, using the latest tsection.dat, and don't wait for the entire route to be "finished" (they never are.)

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

DEFAULT.......If MS and KUJU release an updated MSTS version2 that's NOT compatible with Xtracks...anyone who has routes with Xtracks is SOL!And it's been done before....with Flight Simulator. There were times when changes were made that obsoleted many airplanes, scenery, etc. Xtracks might be a good thing now, but it might not be later.bill

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

If a version 2 of MSTS ever exists, AND it includes any new track or road shapes, it won't be compatible with the existing default routes or default tsection.dat file. If there is a MSTS 2 and there is an upgrade path for the default routes, routes that use the standardized
\global\tsection.dat file (that includes any the use Xtrack V3.x and above) will be able to be upgraded. Maybe not through the same path, but if it is at least as open a system as MSTS 1, there will be a way.David Beach.Palouse & LewistonEvergreen Tracks would like to know – image 4

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

Xtracks!!! I don't know how anybody can build any route when your minimum radius curve is 500m or even 250m if you enabled them without installing Xtracks (not counting the Endpnt sections).Jeff

X-Tracks is the way to go. With so much diversity and flexibility, how can you lose? Plus, it just keeps getting better.

RE: Evergreen Tracks would like to know...........

Xtracks please. Both for operation and appearance. As to how the route is released, those of us who use the packing feature of Route Control have to both load and remove from Route Control, update, and go through the process of reintegrating into Route Control with every update. It's ineveitable that this will happen to some extent as routes are improved and/or debugged, but the less often the better.Bob Barrows

I'll take Nicole Kidman... whoops.. I mean Xtracks. Darn you Tim, I got distracted!! hehehe I find xtracks to have more options. I only wish for dynamic narrow guage track, but with the current selection of pieces I haven't run into a problem yet.Nick
