My CD has a scratch on it and it will not load the usa files. Can anybody tell me if there are any routes that do not use the usa textures.
Thanks

Very few.
(1) Call Microsoft, replacement disks are available for a nominal cost after the warranty has expired.(2) While you're waiting for them to ship it, download the 5 files for the Seattle route from the file library, create an empty folder named "\USA2" in the \Train Simulator\Routes folder, copy the \Envfiles, \Shapes, \Sounds, \Terrtex and \Textures folders from the Seattle route and paste them into \USA2. For some reason the developer of the Seattle route elected to include all the standard USA2 folders with the route instead of using a batch file to copy them, in your case that will give you all the default USA2 folders. If you don't want the Seattle route and have a dial up connection, just download seattle1.zip, seattle2.zip, and seattle3.zip, which contain the default USA2 files plus a few custom ones, and skip 4 and 5, which are route specific to the Seattle route. That won't give you Marias Pass, but as long as the \Envfiles, \Shapes, \Sounds, \Terrtex and \Textures folders containing Marias' files are in a folder named \Train Simulator\Routes\USA2, the install batch file for any add-on route will copy them from there without ever knowing the difference.

Scratched CD.If you have not tried this yet, you might get a CD cleaner kit at your local music store. Data on the CD is not stored on the surface, but rather in a layer beneath the visible surface. If the scratch is only into the outer surface, it can be polished out with a cleaner kit. However, if it is a deep scratch into the inner layer, the suggestion to contact Microsoft for replacements (they will want to know the serial # of your purchased set as proof you really paid originally) is your only option.J.
