I recently received an email from Chris, the son of Yuri Sos. As you know, Yuri's great tutorials page is at (http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/tutorials/).Chris told me about his route and included screenshots. I was amazed, so I got permission to post some screenshots. Chris calls his route "Kits, Mutts and Jangot". Chris wisely learns by reading Michael Vone's guide and has had no help at all from his father except for modifying the *.ref file. Notice the use of car spawners, a terrain transfer, custom objects and a custom terrain texture imported from another route, and a "crime scene" with police cars, an ambulance, and police officers standing over a horizontal body. WOW !Great job Chris. Keep up the good work as all of us old men struggle to use the Route Editor. Chris, I hope you are reading this. Outstanding work! I hope my route turns out as well. As I am sure you know, you are welcome to join our friendly (most of the time!) group here. With your talent, you would be right at home here. Thanks Bill for posting the pictures and information. Now what I am trying to figure out is whether that yellow locomotive and wagon are floating in the air or if it is just the camera angle. Well, Cal, if you hadn't been so busy gawking at the body on the
platform, you might have noticed the same loco and wagon on the
left side of the first pic, sitting on the ground at the end of
the platform. hehehe Give the kid extra points for originality,
for sure.I'm not sure if the loco and wagon are scenery items or rolling
stock, though. Maybe the terrain error threshold has made the
'ground' cover the track they're on because of the distance from
the camera?Lloyd Engle, shameless self-promoter

Hi Chris,I am impressed with your talent. I really like the palm trees and beach scene. What we grown-ups often struggle to master, seems to come so easily to young people like yourself. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more of your route!!
Best regards,Keeter

RE: Route by 10 year old Chris Sos (with screenshots)

Well I'll be!
This kid Chris has got more talent in his little finger than I have in my whole body. At least he gets to complete his route.I think I have found out what's been giving me all those headaches with the MBTA. I'm almost 100% sure I know what it is now. I'm doing a little investigating and as soon as I'm positive about it, I will post the results. Right now it is 3:30 AM and I want to finish finding out my problem. Wish me luck.Congratulations Chris. You're doing a fine job.

Hey Bill,
You have got competition.
10 years old and from down under as well, he can't go wrong.
Almost makes you cry to think of all the years of route building he has ahead of him. Don't know if I mean that literally with this edition of RE or not. Think what he will be producing with version 2 if he can get this far now with the present version.
Keep up the good work Chris.
Cheers
