And only turn the tracks invisible, not remove them, since
the track data base would still be there. Hopefully someone
who knows the answer will respond, I'm kind of wondering
about that myself, for the usual reasons.

RE: Which files to delete to remove all track ?

It is remotely possible to delete all track without removing static objects, but tedious at best, and one little slip of the ")" screws it up.
Deleting the \World\*.w files will remove all objects leaving only the terrain, which is in the \Tiles folder. Then delete RouteName.tdb, RouteName.tit, and tsection.dat, and the track database is all gone. If you have layed roads RouteName.rdb and RouteName.rit also have to go.
If for some reason you want to keep all the trees and buildings and whatnot, you would need to:
1. Open each \World\*.w file in wordpad, do an edit, find, for " TrackObj". Then every hit you get delete the data block:TrackObj (
UiD ( 9 )
SectionIdx ( 1 )
Elevation ( 0 )
CollideFlags ( 583 )
FileName ( A1t50mstrt.s )
StaticFlags ( 00200180 )
Position ( 529.392 1 -488.111 )
QDirection ( 0 -1 0 1.26759e-006 )
VDbId ( 4294967294 )
StaticDetailLevel ( 0 )
)That last close parenthesis is fussy, gotta take that out with the rest of it, leaving the ) for each object listing remaining in the proper place, or it's send/don't send.Next do the same, edit, find, "Dyntrack", delete all those datablocks. If you have placed any track objects this is further complicated, platform & siding markers, signals, level crossings, etcetera all have to be removed too.
Once you have done that for every \World\*.w file, go into the root (main) folder for the route, delete RouteName.tdb, RouteName.tit, and tsection.dat, and the track database is all gone.http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=4559&forum=DCForumID6&archive=yes
