Cell Phone Towers are here… Like it or not! – image 1

Cell phones are a part of our life these days and unfortunately so are the ugly towers and antennas. I have created a 100 ft steel cell phone tower with two tiers of antennas and several individual antennas for mounting on top or side of existing structures. These would be appropriate for any route modeled in the modern era. These files should be in the library Monday or Tuesday.Cell Phone Towers are here… Like it or not! – image 2

Bill, you sure there are no cell phones in Sea View? I thought a few pf those palm trees look like the disguised cell phone towers we see all over southern California.Yep, here they disguise them as palm trees!I actually saw a couple up in Washington disguised as evergreen types....

RE: Cell Phone Towers are here...Like it or not!

Steve,There are cameras hidden in some of those palm trees, but none of the trees are cell phone towers. For SV3, I will need to turn Cal's towers from vertical to horizontal for the use I am thinking of. In that case I can't disguise them as trees. Bill Burnett

RE: Cell Phone Towers are here...Like it or not!

In my hometown here in Utah, they built a cell tower disguised as a tree. It would have worked except that they must have used the "redwood" or "sequoia" model used up in the PNW because the darn thing looks so out of place here in the HIGH DESERT. I can't believe they couldn't make it look more like a blue spruce or something... if it was surrounded by evergreens that grow here in Utah, that would help. In the wintertime, the cell tower is the only tree on that street with "leaves" still on it. You can't help but notice it.Makes it easy to model in MSTS, though... just get any tree that obviously doesn't belong and you would never see anywhere else in your route, and put one (1) somewhere next to a city street.- dispatcher618

The church is probably getting paid some good $$$ for it.My wife's company has a fake palm tree/cell phone tower in their equipment yard, and the company gets quite a check every couple months from the cell phone company...

Bill, even if you turned it on its side, I don't think it would work as a paddlewheel on a riverboat! Whatcha gonna do with that 100' driveshaft?Cell Phone Towers are here… Like it or not! – image 11
