I have MS Expedia Streets 98, and got to looking at the options. You can display the cursor location in Decimal format, and drag the image around the map, while it continuosly updates. Great for roads, rivers and streams, and major tracks.Long/Lat Data the easy way – image 1The cursor doesn't show in the screen grab, but was centered on the UP main and Dewey Ave.

I can't imagine building a protoype route without it. I used it to build my marker file and still add new markers all the time. If you're going to build a prototype route, this program is a must.

RE: Long/Lat Data the easy way

Microsoft Streets & Trips has the same feature and shows the track layout. Some of the track data is a bit outdated, though. The program can be found for less than $20. Also Garmin's MapSource CDs are even easier to use, but are too expensive for just this use. Sure makes route layout a breeze.osmyrl
