John,
I worked for North American Car/GE Railcar for many years and spent a lot of time in Sayre/Waverly. Please help, as I can't, this chap as the route will be beautiful! I have hopes that one day a route developer with the talent of Rich Garber will do the LV.
Regards.........PS: Greatest Italian food in the world is in Sayre! Is O'Briens up on the hill still open! You know where my priorities were when I was in town!

When did you work at GE Railcar?? My dad worked there for some time. His name is Dave Rosh. MY mom's cousin is a boss there, Danny Luchaco. And I know everyone else there as well.O'Briens was just recently reopened.

John,
I worked for NAC/GE from the mid 70's to 1990. I was the corporate QC Manager out of the Chicago Office. Tell Danny that I said hello and pass on my best regards to the rest of the folks there...they were a great group of people to work with! I know that the old main LV shop building is gone...is the depot still standing?

I thought you meant that you actually worked at the Sayre plant. But no matter, when I see Danny, WAlly and the rest of the guys, I will give them your best...And yes the old LV station is still standing. They almost used it for City Hall here recently, but that never materialized.I looked for a recent pic of the station and couldn't find one. I will post one when I get one....

RE: NS Southern Tier

Enocell has some great buildings in the NJ route that look exactly lile all the Endicott Johnson factories in Johnson City. Are you going to include the JC to Vestal Branch by the old GE which is now the Marietta Power Plant???

RE: NS Southern Tier

Hi Mike,
This may be out of the bounds that you are interested in, but I just recently (last 10 days) started working on the route between North Tonawanda, NY and Niagara Falls, NY. This includes the old Erie lines along with the old NYC lines. Tom>Would anybody be interested in helping me with this route?

RE: NS Southern Tier

Well, since I am just at the beginning of this project, I'm unsure of what pitfalls await me. This is the first time I'm working on a larger scale project with the Route Editor. I'd be happy to send you the route files every now and then as things progress. I would also be happy to hear any input or criticisms you would have. I'll keep in touch, but it would be easier if I had a direct email address for you instead of going through this forum. You can contact me at tom@coburndesign.com . Tom>Sure i would be interested. What kid of help would you need

RE: NS Southern Tier

Hey Mike,
I'm not sure what exactly you need but I have the ZTS Maps for the Southern Tier. They show the track designations, track diagrams, and industry placements. I made a few trips to Binghamton, Elmira and Gang Mills as a Conductor in the late 90's but never West of there. I am currently working on a route of the Southern Tier form Suffern, NY to Port Jervis, NY thanks to the help of this forum. If I can help you with maps of the yards or the ZTS maps please feel free to contact me either by forum or direct email. Maybe our routes will meet at Binghamton one day. Jimjim@cagg.com

RE: NS Southern Tier

Jim,Are you working on the Graham Line? I'm interested in the progression of this route. I live at CP-Howells, NY about 500 ft from the Old ER mainline and Graham Line Joe Cooney, another member on this forum, is working on a small segment of the Graham Line for his O&W Route. Regards,

RE: NS Southern Tier

Hi Walter,It will be the Graham Line. I have laid the track as far as Central Valley at this point. I have just finished Nepera Chemical which uses the original main as storage tracks. That will be the extent of the old main. My main focus is the Tier in the late 90's before NS. Joe if you take a look at this, I am trying to find a model of the Metro North station platforms located all along the route. I have not tried my hand at 3D modeling yet. An example of this can be found at http://www.cagg.com/tour.asp (top picture), which if you like the Tier you may want to take look at. It's a simple site with some pictures I shot while at work. Thanks for you interest and I'll keep you posted, Jim

RE: NS Southern Tier

Jim,FYI: Rick Lamp added a trestle in the library that looks similar to Moodna Viaduct. I would be interested in beta testing your route. Walter

Jim,I can't wait to see the route.I was in New Berlin,NY this weekend and RT17 spends some time along the Tier.Where I live in NJ is just a couple of miles from Passaic Jct.My favorite spot on the Southern Tier though is just outside of Port Jervis, across from an amazing piece of road called the Hawk's Nest.

RE: NS Southern Tier

It's really beautiful up there. My buddy picked up 60 acres and an awesome old house for dirt cheap. The center of town is actually about 10 minutes away.If there is a fire in his area, the town of Morris would respond.
