I've got a couple or three more days of work on the sound files for the K-36, but needed a break. Here's Baker City's yard, with the UP main, and SVRR narrow gauge tracks. It's close, but not perfect, as I haven't come up with detailed maps of 1938, only 1911 and a not very detailed 1944.K-36 visits Sumpter Valley RR – image 1I live 3 blocks to the right of this view, and it is amazingly accurate, thanks to David Beach's help!
K-36 visits Sumpter Valley RR – image 2Some of the track (there's a few to add) was dual gauge trackage, I suspect I can do this with Xtracks, but am not sure yet.Tim Muir did the gorgeous little hack, from SVRR drawings and photos I took a couple weekends ago up at Sumpter and the operation.Sniper! This route, I am planning to make available, probably when The tracks roll into Sumpter, the 1/2 way point or a little less. Figure 2-4 months though, as I'm doing a lot opf research, and trying to get it accurate.I hope to set up some activities that have mainline trains rolling through town. If possible the AI passenger train should make a station stop. UP 800's (4-8-4's) Challengers, 2-8-8-0's and Mikes would be at home here. There will be about 10 miles of UP mainline, with some real switching possibilities, including the dual gauge interchange with the svrr, that switched all the mills. Jon Davis is working on a Uintah and Sumpter version of the 2-6-6-2 Narrow gauge mallet, #251, that operated here!

No, it's the standard gauge version. Actually, due to its track hugging design and outside frames, you can barely tell, when looking close. The tender is a bit worse, but without really looking for the slight misaligned wheels and track, you'd never notice. The caboose is 3' gauge though.

Nice to see some real narrow gauge railroading.
The narrow gauge Mallet sounds intersting also knowing Jons exceptionally high quality. You can make dual gauge trackage by laying the tracks on top of each other. I have some dual gauge tracks at Gorre made this way.

Thanks, that's what I guessed. Here's a further question. Since the SVRR switched both standard gauge and narrow gauge cars on the dual gauge track, can it be managed in the sim? Is there a way to get both to sit properly on the tracks, or is this just too much?I know I could try this, but if someone knows already, it'll save some hassle.

Don't know really since I don't have any narrow gauge cars.
Kind of doubt it though, probably you will end up with a crash if you try.
