Does any one know how to chagne the camera's start position? I know you can roughly place it with the RGE, but I want to give it an exact placement. I noticed the .trk file has the following entryRouteStart ( -11046 14489 -448 136 )but not sure if thats the correct thing to change and if it is, what do the numbers represent. Mike
The numbers you are looking at are as follows; -11046 and 14489 identify the starting tile location. -448 and 136 are the camera position relative to the center of the tile.If you place your camera in your route where you want it to start, write down the tile number and the coordinates in the tile, change the numbers in RouteStart to those values, your camera will be placed at that location next time you load the route for editing. As always, make a backup in case you make an error that you can't recover from. Remember to save as unicode.SRV Ron
well I figured out the first two numbers are the "tile x" and "tile z" values from the Camera window, so I'm going to assume the second set of numbers are the position with-in the tile. I still have to figure out how to get those numbers, but at least I can now have my camera start with-in a visible distance from where my route starts Mike
This is the camera window. If you don't see it, click the Window menu item in the RE and select it.In this example, I am in tile -11398,14506 and at location 329(x) by 302(y). This is in a grid of about 2048 by 2048 points, with the origin (0,0) at the center. When you set a value, the RE always starts with you pointing north, so you may have to rotate to find what you are looking for.Martyn T. Oops, that was a typo. I typed the correct value, just entered the wrong letter!!!Sorry if it confused you.It would be nice to be able to set the height as well. That way, you could end up ON a bridge, not 60 ft under water Martyn T. Griffin griffinmt@mindspring.com
