I have a need for curved switches in a route I am trying to build. Does any such animal exist? I mean a curved through path and a curved diverging path.Lcken

RE: Curved Switches

They're being done for UK Finescale track in about 2-3 weeks. It can be done, so it just needs someone to do them for MSTS standard track Cheers 7&Y

RE: Curved Switches

I have a similar need, although I don't have the correct specs for what I want yet. Tried looking all over for them but no such luck. For now, I just dummied the spot up with regular straight switches and installed fewer tracks in that area until I find them.Until someone can teach me all I need to know about creating your own tracks (switches and scissors) from scratch, I am in wait mode for them.Martyn T. RE: Curved Switches

There's no curved switches in XTracks but the modular switches have quite short straight path and can often be used.
The 6 degree modular switches has a straight path that is only 5 meters, the 3 degree has a 10 meter straight path.

RE: Curved Switches

Here's an example of the 6 degree modular switch in action. Can you tell that there is 5m worth of straight in there?Curved Switches – image 2Jeff Leslie

RE: Curved Switches

Hi,This is from a German package. Not compatible with the Tsection.dat by David.
Curved Switches – image 3The package is named Railworks.
You can download this package from http://www.thetrain.de/
Go to the download section of this site, choose Files suchen from the left menu (Files search) and give Railworks in the search box.Dick van den HovenCurved Switches – image 4

RE: Curved Switches

Naturally I had a look at that package and I’m unsure how I should react.
The curved switches and the 3000 & 6000 meter curves are original but the rest is based on what can be found in XTracks.
There can be no doubt that he has used the geometry from my 3 degree modular points when doing his points, slips and Xovers.
If you’d used those you could fit XTracks sections straight in their place.
At least he’s done his own shapes and is not charging anything.
Maybe I should return the favour and copy his curved turnouts?I think a word of caution to anyone using those pieces is called for though.
The way the tsection.dat is handled makes the effort a dead end.
It can’t be expanded and it can’t be combined with other track add-ons unless the tsection.dat is revamped.

RE: Curved Switches

Damn, now you've gotten me started again.
I won't copy those sections though as I don't think the geometry optimal. It will take a while as texturing curved sections is not childs play but I've got the specifcations figured.

RE: Curved Switches

Currently doing 500r, might be doing 1000r also but not any larger as texturing those is hell.
