Hello all. I haven't been working on my route at all this summer. Here are the starting and ending locations currently:East end: MP 64, just east of Tabernash
West end: MP 115, just east of RadiumThe plan is still to continue to Craig at MP 232, and maybe to branch off at Bond and go to Dotsero, depending on what Nick decides to do with his route from Grand Junction to the east.I'm hoping by posting this it will get me motivated to lay some more track. Maybe you guys can give me some encouragement!Cheers,
MarkHeading west in Gore Canyon

Encouragement

Beautiful! Is that pure DEM or was there some manual terraforming involved? The first pic especially has me wondering if DEM can be that exact. If that is manual terraforming you did a magnificent job!Kent

RE: Encouragement

It's almost pure DEM. The only thing I did in that first picture is press "Y" after laying each piece of track. In the second pic, with the tunnels, I did some manual terraforming around the tunnels to get the terrain lined up with the portals. Thanks for the interest!Mark

RE: Moffat Road pics from Gore Canyon

Great Job! I'm still working on Tabernash to North Yard, I'm at Tunnel 17 before PineCliff. I had the track finished and was working on the signalling when a nasty virus attack took out my hard drive back in March. I was within 2 weeks of releasing it. I had to reformat and start over again. I also changed my isp (Qwest) after they refused to admit that their servers were infected with Code Red and was passing it along...Rob

PS, wouldn't mind seeing some screenshots with those great new CSDU Hoppers from the file library that ran that route to the coal fields of western Colorado and Utah Rob

RE: Moffat Road pics from Gore Canyon

I'd be happy to, except they are not mine. I got them from Nalle, and you should probably talk to him about it. Don't they look great, though?

WOW!!Now where it the vista dome Mark? That would be the true way to see gore canyon. Your route looks AWESOME!! Can't wait to see it when you're done. We will have to collaborate on how to do textures the right way to get the canyon to look even more impressive. I know Glenwood Canyon will be tough for me.As far as the two of us meeting up someday. Work from Bond to Craig first. Then maybe the two of us can work soemthing out between Dotsero and Bond. Who knows. Gee if we could just play MSTS all dayTake care and always look forward to more updates!!NickMoffat Road pics from Gore Canyon – image 5 Moffat Road pics from Gore Canyon – image 6

Thanks to all for the kind words.Nick, we definitely need to work on the textures in Gore Canyon. That's kind of over my head (right now at least), so I'm going to need some help with that.Vista domes coming soon!
