I have recently downloaded the ADFRR and on checking the InstallMe.bat I realised that Route-Riter was not removing the Default Shape files from the route and copying them back in when Installme.bat was run.The route still runs OK, but the download is quite a bit larger than it should have been. (Luckily it is the .ACE files which are the big ones). It looks like I have accidentally deleted a line from the source code during one of the recent upgrades. I will fix it this week-end and post a new version as soon as possible. Sorry for any problems this has caused, several routes which have used Route-Riter in the last few weeks are affected.

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

Mike,When you do the upgrade, can you do me a favor an change the yellow button color or the text color on the buttons? It might be my monitor, but its very difficult to read the yellow buttons. If you could, I would really appreciate it.~DR

Not lighter lol a darker color, please, since you are using a white font color. It needs more contrast.

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

Hi again DarkestRose,Unfortunately, I do not use a white font anywhere? All the boxes/buttons in Route-Riter use the default black font.Funnily enough this is the second query about colors I have had this week. One user got all the cells in the Activity grid in the new version as black with black fonts, whereas the grid has a white background on my machine and all the others I have tested it on.I am not sure what is causing these color problems.

Mike, you need to check more than just mine. The reason being, there were some files that I manually put back in there after Route-Riter had run because they were updated textures with the same names, sizes and times, I believe. These would have been .ace files, bloating the download.I just hate to see you work any harder than you have already if you don't have to Thanks again for a super programRobertR

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

Hi Robert,I don't mind working on the program, keeps me off the streets With regard to the textures, see my posting somewhere else on here about using the KeepMe.txt file to retain the versions of textures etc you wish to use. The KeepMe.txt already includes Acleantrack1.ace but you can add any trees etc which have default texture names which you want to retain. For your info, some of the Trees like Tree8.ace have different textures in each of the default routes.

Mike,Neville Brook is currently using Route Riter to prepare his New Zealand route for uploading. Should he wait for your new version?Bill Burnett
P.S. Route Riter works great for uncompressing and compressing *.s files. Thanks!

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

I was wondering about that, when I tried to use it to patch the MCT route or whatever it was, the guy didn't upload the shape files with it, and the version of route riter I have now didn't write the copy lines for the shape files to the bat. Took me a while to figure out it was leaving the shapes in, and I assumed you did that on purpose for some reason. While testing another problem I took the \Shapes folder only out of ADFRR, and it zipped up to 5 megs, altho I don't know how much of that was custom files.
Somebody also mentioned you could use route riter to uncompress .S files, I don't see a seperate button for that.

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

So it is a bug in the RR afterall. I had to include the shape files and now the newest beta is 11 megs. But now I don't get nags about missing shapes.

RE: Route-Riter Problem - Important

Yes, RR had a bug which stopped it adding the shapes to the Installme.bat file. However it did not delete the shapes from the route either, so the result was that the distribution file was bloated with the extra shapes, however you should not have had queries for missing shapes, as RR was not deleting them.
