Railroads are our best friend they protect, save, move, give, and get!
give them gratitude which they deserve. All us RailBuffs dont even see the full potential railroads give!
to see it you got to be it!
All railroads are are steel laces on wood with big loud heavy machines on them! so simple yet so helpful!
Railroad the best, easiest, and simplest way to be and make a friend.
THE END

RE: scenery?

Copy the .ref file from the route in which you took the shapes, textures, etc from and paste it into your new route folder. Then delete the original .ref and rename the copied one to the folder name of your route.Hope this helps!Austin S.

Well, guess I will edit out my answer.. I was going to tell him the same thing...BTW, I still recommend that you spend $15 and buy the route building guide. Will save you (and the forum) a whole lot of time and trouble.Scenery? – image 3

RE: scenery?

I agree wholeheartedly. The answers to all your questions thus far are in Michael Vone's guide. Get it. Read it. Do the tutorial route, step by step as he describes it. It will help you far more than asking very cryptic questions here. After reading the book and doing the tutorial, if you still have questions, we're here.

RE: scenery?

bcdef,I agree with the others, Michael Vone's Guide to Route Building is essential. It answers questions like this and most of the many, many problems with the Route Editor that you haven't encoutered yet. I doubt that I would have been "successful" without it.Bill Burnett

RE: scenery?

bcdef, there is a file in the file library here called all objects. It contains an allobjects.ref file that you can use to replace the *.ref file in your route as well as a sigcfg.dat file that you can use in your route to replace the default one. These files will give you all of the objects and signals in the game once you copy the files from the default routes. I used one of the earlier versions of it when I built the NEC Extension route for the default NEC route. So if you download that route and install it you can get the files from there as well. I believe an updated version has since been released however, so you might be better off downloading it. I hope that helps, and good luck with your route. George.

RE: scenery?

Definetely listen to post #5. All_object ref is the way to go. You cannot simply copy objects from the other routes into your new route and copy the ref file too. This was how we did it in the old days. There are objects in each route which are different but have the same names for one. Plus, copying over your ref with a another ref merely deletes one ref for the other. With Jim Ward's all_object.ref you can have a huge assortment of objects without hardly any tinkering. The Ohio Rail uses all_object.ref.Rich Garber
