ME GUSTA MUCHO, HOMBRE! The self-install is flawless - and much appreciated - and the route is just beautiful. Congrats to Mr. Wirth and co-conspirators.Can I be your new best friend, Bob?

RE: Raton Pass

Love this route, well the part I've seen. Took a train west through the pass, got to French and derailed at the point/switch/turnout at the eastern end. Going to try the other way nrxt time.Mervyn

RE: Raton Pass

Excellent route Pete. It appears exactly as I remember from my trip last year over it. Fortunately the SWC was running close to schedule so we went westbound in daylight. We were 5 hours late coming back, so it was about midnight when we passed through the tunnel. I woke up at that point and realized where we were. For what it is worth, I would encourage any one that is interested to copy these routes that are on an "endangered species list" or already gone, so we can vicariously remember how it once was. Planning on doing the Milwaukee Road, Rocky Mtn. div. myself in bite size pieces, and the NP Lookout Branch. I have the engr. details on hand. Also, for what it is worth, I would encourage any members of this or other MSTS groups to contact your local federal representatives and express your views about Amtrak and intercity passenger trains. I know there are some that wish it would go away, but I am not one of them.J. H. Sullivan, P.E. (retired)

RE: Raton Pass

Great route. However is it just me, I hope not!, Westbound from MP 641 to MP 658 the snow all but disappears. The heavy snow cover goes from white to green again in this section. If anyone know how to fix this problem let us all know. Thanks John

RE: Raton Pass

Excellent route! Ran the route from Trinidad to Vegas this evening. I'm especially impressed with the grade transitions. No exaggerated hills or slopes. Lookin' forward to running the route headed east later today.Jordan L.
