"RE: Help Creating a route" First of all, you need make sure you know how to build a route without DEMEX, ie create the route & route tiles in the Route Geometry Extractor (RGE), Place some track on it in the route editor, create an activity and actually run a train on it. Don't try DEMEX until you have done all that first. You can then delete your test route and start over. Now run DEMEX by selecting it from the START/Programs bar. Click the 'unregistered' button in the registration options. From the DEMEX menu select 'file->open'. Select the DEM you obtained in the file selector and click the 'open' button.Your DEM will load (assuming you have a valid dem compatible with DEMEX). You can move the mouse around over the image and see the latitude & longitude of the area covering the DEM. Now go into the MSTS RGE and create tiles for your route which cover these same latitude/longitude coordinates, or if you've already created route tiles then verify they cover the same area.Once you have route tiles created then in DEMEX select the menu item 'file->select route' and in the combo box pick the name for the route you created, then click 'ok'. You will see a number of red squares with X's in their centers overlayed over your dem. These are the tiles in your route. If you don't see any red squares you either didn't successfully create the route tiles or they don't cover the same area as your dem - go back to the RGE & try again. Now that you have the red squares go to the DEMEX menu 'standard terrain->create route terrain'. Demex will now generate terrain on your route.Done.
