May-26-02, 12:18 PM (EDT) "Tehachapi Route - Full edition" Guys,I'm working on the Tehachapi Route basing on the developer's edition. Had a few hours recently and I'm coming down the pass to Bakersfield (so far until Woodford, half way down). There is still a lot to do, including sound and carspan and Bakersfield. It is not a perfect copy, I have only photos and air pictures and living a few thousand miles away, and the monolith cement factory may not look like the original, but it surely looks like a cement factory. Etc. etc. Will be ready during June. Somebody interested in the route. You'll need the 3d stuff route for a few dollars (it's worth it anyhow !) and I would give the objects and the placement as an addendum for free. Is there any interest in this ??? If yes, I will post a few pictures soon.Maybe somebody from 3d stuff is reading this: Are you guys interested in placing this as a free update on your webside?Badger Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Tehachapi Route - Full edition" LAST EDITED ON May-26-02 AT 04:18 PM (EDT)I wish that when 3DTrainStuff pulled all the original MSTS content out of the route, they had replaced the objects with some sort of temporary marker object, Simple cubes or maybe signs labeled "house1" for example. Then the users could use a search and replace utility on the WORLD folder files to install their own, 3rd party or original objects without having to manually place hundreds of objects.I've been using this technique for retro-fitting Marias Pass 3 to Marias 1948 with Funduc Software's "Search and Replace for Windows" (http://www.funduc.com). Saves a huge amount of time over the Route Editor.Ron Paludan

May-29-02, 10:21 AM (EDT) 7. "RE: Tehachapi Route - Full edition" Alright, don't call me hero, but I got the message! As soon as I understand how to place pictures of my route in this forum, you will get it! Monday afternoon I spent a few hours and inmproved Mojave, which is more or less finished and Tehachapi (80% ready) and I worked down to Rowen. I'm easily planting down to Bena, but the big one is still waiting: All the tracks around Bakersfield where I have too less photos anyhow, but from what I have it looks very much like industrial wasteland.
Good news: I have plenty iof time in June to work on this stuff, lying in the sun, going to holydays, starting my new job in July and being paid for June in my old one. Sounds like fun? You bet it is ...Badger Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-01-02, 11:54 PM (EDT) 8. "RE: Tehachapi Route - Full edition" Hi Guys,Thats great, however, Rob Easterday is also making a similar offer as well. And its done. And Cajon Pass is in beta, here are some early screens..Approaching the BNSF B and A Yards...
Approaching Verdemont, note the large Cargill grain storage facility..
Here is a meet just below Cajon siding, this something you see alot of in the Pass..and yes, the Espee line is up above there somewhere..
and finally, here we are at Victorville, there is an Amtrak platform/stop here. Btw, the rear end of this train is still down in the Mojave Narrows..
Best regards,
