May-13-02, 03:05 AM (EDT) "Removing signals" After downloading the V & O route, I think it would look much better with the CSX style signals available from this site. Also some of the signals on the route are "dark" ie not lit.I have had this problem before. Is there a limit to the number that a route can have? Is it related to the amount of memory in the computer?
Does anyone know an easy way to remove all the signals on a route.

Aside from going thru the entire route and deleting every signal manually, you could try deleting all the signal entries from the \World\*.w files in wordpad, delete the .tit and .tdb files, then rebuild the track database. If you have enough RAM to get past lots of error messages without crashing, you could also go into the \Shapes folder, delete all the files with the word "signal" in them, then open it in the route editor and save changes after you get past all the "failed to load" messages. Probably a few other ways you could try, but the only surefire failsafe one that I know of is the hard way, deleting them all manually. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Removing signals" Thanks for that. The first thing I was going to try was deleting the shapes and textures for the signals, then the data files for the signaling. As I am from the UK I am also interested in getting rid of the awfull semaphore signals on the Settle and Carlisle line.If I get it to work I will post it here.If it fails, well there is allways the sixth floor window.Andy K Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
