May-10-02, 00:35 AM (EDT) "TSM Problem" LAST EDITED ON May-10-02 AT 00:38 AM (EDT)I am just starting to use TSM 1.1. and am already having a problem. I have created the water tank in the first tutorial. When I try to create the TS object, and then go into RE to test it, all scenery objects are gone from the selection list except the default short list. I looked at the .ref file and everything is there including the object from TSM. The size of the .ref file has decreased by 50%. If I delete the .ref file and rename the .refbk file to .ref, all my objects are back.

May-10-02, 00:57 AM (EDT) 1. "RE: TSM Problem" Have you placed the object in a category of it's own? Not that I'm saying it must be, but I've always added my objects that way and have never had my default ones disappear.Stew Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-10-02, 08:06 AM (EDT) 2. "RE: TSM Problem" This generally means that there is a syntax error in the REF file. Look for it (usually a missing parenthesis) just after the last good object that you can see in the RE object list.Nick Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-10-02, 11:07 AM (EDT) 3. "RE: TSM Problem--HELP PLEASE!" Before using TSM, my REF file worked fine. It was about 270k in size and contained scenery objects from all the default routes plus numerous downloaded items. All objects were accessable. After selecting "Create TS object" in TSM, my REF file is about 130k. Looking at the file with wordpad, all objects seem to be there, including the new object from TSM. However, when I go into RE and try to select the object, the only ojects or classes are the default objects before I imported from the default routes. It appears that the REF file is being compressed by TSM. If there is a syntax error in the file, would it only show when the file is compressed? If that is the case, I've got a lot of searching to do. There's a lot of stuff in that file!If I copy the new TSM object data to the clipboard and then paste it into the original REF file (270k version), RE finds the object but has trouble loading it. It says something like "Can't find extended shape file". I think that is a makeace problem. The .s and .sd files for the TSM object are both present in the Shapes folder. If I can get past the first problem, I think the second problem will be easy to fix.
