May-08-02, 07:08 PM (EDT) "SHUTTLE STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I have the tiles ready for the beginning of the shuttle route. I am ACTUALLY doing this route, unlike Steven Mason (also known as Amtrak12, HHP, aem7, and TROLL!). I would like to know how i get the tunnel to the correct 20 feet BELOW street level. The RE is driving me INSANE!!!!! Also the subway doesn't run on grass (or anywhere near it as a matter of fact) or on ballast. The actual type of track is different too. Is there any possible way of doing this route without it being RUINED by the RE, or is that totally impossible? There will be a beta version of this route, so tell me if the beta version should be on the ground, in a cut, or in a tunnel.John

May-08-02, 08:02 PM (EDT) 1. "RE: SHUTTLE STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" since the whole route is underground, its worthless to actually make it actually underground. ive done subways before (about a year ago) and it looked GREAT and it was not underground. also, with XTracks and all those new NYC subway 3d objects, building a route should be very easy.

May-13-02, 10:27 PM (EDT) 2. "RE: SHUTTLE STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Thanks for your opinion. That's what I'll probably do. If anyone wants it as a subway, they can have it as a subway.
I have been hearing bad things about X Tracks 3 and I was wondering if I had any other choice for nonbalasted track. Also the default surface will not work for this route. There is absolutely no grass on 42nd Street. I am also wondering if I should try to do an extention of this route to City Hall and 145th Street, or if I should let someone else do that who wants to do that. Thanks for you help!John Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-14-02, 09:20 AM (EDT) 3. "RE: SHUTTLE STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" You can always change the texture to something other than grass in the route editor. Hopefully this will help you with your question about the grass. I would just build your subway above ground. If you wanted to you could always raise the terrain above your tracks once you had completely laid all of the tracks in order to make it a true subway, but since the entire route is in tunnels since it is all subway just leaving it above ground shouldn't matter. As far as what you should build, build what you want to see on the route. Since you are building, I would say build what would make it the most enjoyable for you. We will all love the route whichever path you decide to take on it. You could also build the route. And then maybe build an extension to city hall later. That might also be a possibility. The important thing though is have fun building your route and don't get too frustrated by the Route Editor I look forward to hearing your progress on the route as you build it Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
