May-07-02, 09:50 PM (EDT) "Sea View 2 is complete (well maybe not)" I completed Sea View 2 last night. All track and scenery. Now all I have to do is:1 - Mileposts
2 - Signals
3 - Station and platform names
4 - Speed limits
5 - Sound sources
6 - Sound regions
7 - Yard views
8 - Level crossing timings
9 - Testing during day
10 - Testing at night
11 - Testing in autumn
12 - Testing in winter
13 - Testing in spring
14 - Testing in snow
15 - Removing unnecessary files
16 - Preparing maps
17 - Preparing the readme with acknowledgement of every custom object and understandable installation instructions
18 - Designing and testing some activities
19 - Preparing the zip
20 - Testing and retesting the zipYikes! Route builders must have a screw loose. Bill Burnett Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-08-02, 01:37 PM (EDT) 6. "RE: Sea View 2 is complete (well maybe not)" Way to go Bill, it should be a fun route to run on. I can't wait to see it. Thanks for the time and effort you have put into it and I will look forward to running on it when it is completely finished. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-08-02, 02:21 PM (EDT) 7. "RE: Sea View 2 is complete (well maybe not)" Bill, I'm really looking forward to seeing your new route. Does it include all of the original Sea View route or is it totally separate? It looks like you have come up with a fairly good checklist for anyone completing a route. I would like to recommend that if anyone has any additions or changes, please post them. Then let's post the final checklist in the library under utilities or misc. This way all route builders have a common checklist to follow. Obviously there will be exceptions on individual routes, but your checklist looks like it would work for 99% of the people. Comments, anyone?

May-08-02, 10:01 PM (EDT) 8. "RE: Sea View 2 is complete (well maybe not)" Cal,To me the critical thing on my "checklist" is the testing. Most the other things are optional items that some people include and others don't. Before releasing Sea View 1, I tested pretty thoroughly in summer, winter, night, and snow. Once the route was released, I started getting emails from people getting an error in Autumn. I was missing a file for an object in my Autumn textures folder. What do you think, folks - should I complete my SV1 activity or wait for SV2? Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

May-10-02, 08:08 PM (EDT) 10. "RE: Sea View 2 is complete (well maybe not)" autonerd,My suggestion would be to wait for Sea View 2. More suitable for activites, I think. Lots of improvements to the old Sea View 1 portion. Sea View 2 has three times as much track and three times a many stations. Adds Sky City, Coconut Island, Spalding Island (a large desert island, Soggy Island, and a secret hidden area. Bill Burnett Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
