Apr-27-02, 07:53 AM (EDT) "MSTS LGVMed Project Announcement" Hi everybody,I'm currently working on a (real) high speed TGV route, called LGVMed, located in the south of France and I've finally decided to set up a website that shows the advancement of my work:Message Areas - "MSTS LGVMed Project Announcement" – image 1Until now, the site is in French but I will translate it into English in a few days.French link: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lucweb/lgvmed/fr/default.htm
Upcoming English link: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lucweb/lgvmed/eng/default.htmFor those who can't wait, here are some tips:- Screenshots are available under the "Copies d'écran" link on the left.
- You can find maps of the route by clicking on "Lignes" and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
- You can also take a look at the signals used in the "Signalisation" page.About the release date, I think I will be able to upload a beta version of this route before summer (this will, of course, be freeware). Thanks to all of you in these forums, without you i would have stopped just after placing the first piece of track Best regards,
Luc

Apr-28-02, 11:44 PM (EDT) 5. "RE: A suggestion" Hello,
I think it is a very wonderful route.Only I give you a suggestion that in real tgv route, the track tie is made of concrete, not wood .It may be better if you use the track textures of the NEC route,it is made of concrete.
Looking 4ward your route! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-29-02, 07:27 AM (EDT) 7. "RE: A suggestion" Yes, you're right, but here is my problem:I think MSTS only allows one track texture for one entire route (tell me if i'm wrong) and my route contains both old and new tracks. In the real world, track ties around Marseilles area are all made of wood (and i have many km of these), but the ties on the LGV route itself are made of concrete. Well, as it's mainly a TGV route, i may finally opt for concrete, but it will look very odd for the Marseilles tracks built around 1900.If someone has a solution to this problem, I would use it immediately (or maybe someone can make a track texture that looks good in both cases).Anyway, thanks for your suggestion, I'll do my best to find an answer,Luc

Apr-29-02, 11:45 AM (EDT) 8. "RE: A suggestion" I suggest you keep the track textures as they are. The Kuju one merges better into the terrain, and anyway, after a winter or twenty even the LGV track tends to look kinda dirty, that said, I've only ever travelled on/seen LN1 and LN3 (PSE and Nord-Europe). Still, that route looks quite awesome. I can't wait...Message Areas - "MSTS LGVMed Project Announcement" – image 5 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-29-02, 12:04 PM (EDT) 9. "RE: MSTS LGVMed Project Announcement" Luc,Your screenshots look great, good luck finishing your route! For the track texture, I suggest modifying it to add a little bit of ballast stones in the middle between the rails. That way it might look OK both in MSC and on the LGV.--
