Apr-23-02, 09:03 PM (EDT) "Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" Why do the cars in the street traffic drive into one another when stopped at grade crossing. I am refering specifically to the old style cars used on Rich Garber's ORRR. Is there a value like bounding boxes for them? Where would I look? I want the cars to stop with a little space in between them. Thanks
Mike

Apr-24-02, 01:10 AM (EDT) 1. "RE: Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" I believe you can alter the carspawn.dat file for that... there are a number of values. I did a little editing and noticed that the cars did not "piled up" like usually. Of how it actually works and what those values indicate, I have no clue.Editing the SD files may do the trick also.It is extremely funny to see a car driving under the frame of a truck, with its rear where the truck's rear is and another truck rear-ending it deeper... Apr-24-02, 01:41 AM (EDT) 2. "RE: Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" >As the man says, the answer is in the carspawn data file.It lists the vehicles used on that route, plus a number that relates the the vehicle length. Increase the number and you should see a bigger gap between the cars etc.The figure I think is based on a distance from the centre of the vehicle (or some point created when the car was designed). So increasing the number too much results in a large gap at the front of some trucks. With thanks to all the guys who came up with this info.Andy K

Apr-24-02, 12:06 PM (EDT) 4. "RE: Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" Yup, that's it.I added "1" infront of all those values. Try to adjust the one that is most suitable for you. It will require a method of trial and error.Teme

Apr-24-02, 04:28 PM (EDT) 6. "RE: Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" LAST EDITED ON Apr-24-02 AT 04:29 PM (EDT)Thanks again guys. I ended up adding about 5 to each number and it came out acceptable. I think varying the numbers a little helps with realism. Some cars stop further away than others.MikeMessage Areas - "Traffic Rear-Ends each other at crossing" – image 4
