Apr-20-02, 10:06 PM (EST) "Royal Gorge Route is still alive" For those of you who have been wondering (myself included,) yes, I'm still working on it. The problem is that the more I do, the more I find I want to do.Here are a few shots at the Portland location. This is still a work in progress, though. It's about 20% complete. I decided to build all of the objects myself. For those of you interested in cement plants if there's enough interest I'll upload the stuff to the Files section in gropups as I complete them.Message Areas - "Royal Gorge Route is still alive" – image 1 Message Areas - "Royal Gorge Route is still alive" – image 2 Message Areas - "Royal Gorge Route is still alive" – image 3 Message Areas - "Royal Gorge Route is still alive" – image 4 The prototype plant completely filles the entire area with silos, mixing hoppers, processing buildings, and of course, about a million miles of conveyors. I for one would love to make use of your cement works.
There was a large cement works on the route I am building that looked very much like your model.
I have made a rough example using a mixture of models but yours would be very close to the original.
BTW it was a Portland cement Co building.
Well worth uploading.

Apr-20-02, 11:30 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Royal Gorge Route is still alive" Nick, It looks just like the pic I saw of the plant. Man I will need to invest in a fast computer so I can enjoy all your models. I have to say the best part is the trains, but that is just me. You did an awesome job so far on that plant. I can only imagine how huge its going to be when you get done. Truely a work of art.Nick

Apr-21-02, 07:48 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Royal Gorge Route is still alive" That's a thought. I'll need to drive up to Commerce City and take some pictures of the Conoco refinery. Not a major trip, either; just the other side of town. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

on another note, I went by that museum in town Friday and asked if they had any real pics ...nothing ... they said the best bet was Chenenne, or Omaha.....but those pics that I did take that day have been put to good use ...he e-mailed me some 'mockup' images, and also said they have real plans that they are scanning in from Texas
