Apr-18-02, 11:14 PM (EST) "Help me find a route" I'm looking for a route that has great switching potential but with no 5% grades or anything. I live on the east coast where it is relativly flat, and I am looking for a route that will allow me to perform local duties as well as yard duties w/out having to go through tunnels or grades which will cause me to stall out. I recently downloaded the OH&WV route which I like very much for it's fullness and creativity but I'm not really a fan of mountains. Would anyone suggest downloading the IC route which seem interesting or even the Flatlands. Thanx in AdvanceNL28 Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

You want to go crazy, try the hoboken shore route, you'll probably need to download & install Xtracks from utilities too. Not for people who aren't comfortable with hacking and backing up files, fair warning. Here's a little bitty switching route that's really great;http://www.railwaystation.com/trainsim/routes.html#timesaverAnd if you like O&WV but don't like mountains, the East Metro or the Number 11 route (earlier version) by the same author, are relatively flat and pretty good for switching, Flatlands is OK too. Avoid the Port Ogden & Northern like the plague, it's a great switching route, but the author is nuts about the extra challenge of steep grades and he seriously overdid it! On purpose!Look for these;emrrv11.zip (newest) or number11.zip (oldest)
fltlds3.zip (also need fldupd.zip and fltkup.zip, patches)
