Apr-12-02, 04:29 PM (EST) "Seattle Route: Error Messages" I have downloaded and installed the Seattle Route. When trying to load it, I get "unable to initialize texture file acleantrack.ace" and "unable to load header tape". Is there going to be a fix for this? I am really looking forward to trying out this route!!Fishcarver

Apr-12-02, 04:39 PM (EST) 1. "NO TEXTURE FOLDER, GRASSHOPPER!!" Just checked Seattle in EXPLORER. The .zip files apparently did not build a texture folder for the route......ah, so, desu.....
But what is this header tape thing, alas??

Apr-12-02, 05:12 PM (EST) 2. "RE: NO TEXTURE FOLDER, GRASSHOPPER!!" We haven't figured that one out yet. It would be nice if MS/KUJU would post a list of what the hell all these error messages mean so we don't have to figure them out ourselves.
The seattle route had all the textures in the third or fourth zip, so you could either look for them there or try copying the \Textures folder from USA2 and pasting it into \Seattle. I did duplicate the problem finally following your post, I deleted Acleantrack1.ace (that's the ballast and crosstie textures) from \Portogden5\Textures, and got exactly the error messages you described just from that one missing file. Still don't know what a "header tape" is, or what it has to do with track textures, but if that fixes it for you, I think we got one more error message explained! "These are the logs of the Starship Trainsim.
Its five-year mission:
To boldly go
Where no railroader has gone before"
I'll try re-installing the ID'd zip files and check back with you later.
As my buddy the SkyPilot likes to say,
"Now, let us pray".

Apr-12-02, 07:25 PM (EST) 4. "Okay: It's working!!" Sniper (you've got mail) and to all others that may be interested:
SEATTLE3.Zip contains the TEXTURE files and folders
SEATTLE4.Zip contains the TILES
SEATTLE5.Zip contains the WORLD files.
You need to set up all of these folders in the main SEATTLE route folder and make sure that the right files get to the right place. Each of the Zips creates "Prgm Files/MS Games/TS/Routes/Seattle folders that have to be removed after the files are cut outfrom the subfolders under Seattle and pasted into the main SEATTLE folder under ROUTES.Confused? Good! Why should you be any different than the rest of us?
och. my head hurts.
