Apr-10-02, 07:30 PM (EST) "New Truss Bridges available for download" SRVBrdg2.zip contains the beta files for three detailed steel truss bridges and matching support approaches for use by route builders. They are modeled from HO bridge models and existing bridges found on the Saginaw River.
Details are obtained by extensive use of transparent textures on the lattacework.I will be adding more bridge types and updating the SRVBrdg1.zip to use the new standard of an independent ground texture that can be modified by route builders to match their terrain.
The updated objects will be designed so that they will replace existing objects of mine used in your route without disturbing their location or rotation. There will be an update on the stone pier to show it supporting two bridges on the support pillers. The alpha texture on the bridge above has already been fixed so that the train shows through it properly. It will be part of the update.
Look for it in a few weeks.

The bridge has its own track texture based on HO model track. You have to place bridges and approaches. They are not connected to X-track.
Suggest that you lay out the bridges and approaches in their default east west direction, then select all the parts involved so the entire unit can be moved and positioned as one object.SRV Ron Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-11-02, 08:22 PM (EST) 6. "RE: New Truss Bridges available for download" I am working on a complete replacement update on all the bridges uploaded to fix some minor problems and to allow for compact installation on routes.
Some of the fixes include an easier way to include your route's default texture on approach berms and more details. The updated railroad bridges are completed and tested on my Lake State route. The update will be ready when I get the highway bridges redone to use the new textures.
Updating the bridges to your routes will be painless as they will be direct replacements. They will show up in your route by just replacing the s,sd,and ace files you are currently using. There will be some new bridges including some non working swing spans.
Here is a pic of the fixed texture on the 125ft truss bridge. The train now shows properly through the lattacework.
