Apr-04-02, 01:14 AM (EST) "MarkerMaker" I;ve had some strange oputcomes using the Marker maker available for downlaod in the site's library On a number of occasion, when I imputted the map coordinates, it closed down saying that a divison by zero error happened. I would keep inputting the data and the map would eventually come up. I finally finished the file and loaded it to my route (perhaps I opverdid ther number of markers). When I loaded the editor, the amrkers did not appear. Any ideas on what went wrong. Here are the opening lines of the code:SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0I0t______Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50819 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50141 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50819 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
Marker ( -77.12984 40.50819 "Millerstown Quad" 2 )
The rest of ity looks like this. I am at a loss to explain why they do not appear. Any ideas guys? Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-04-02, 12:15 PM (EST) 1. "RE: MarkerMaker" Mike,I was having the same problem with the harrisburgmkr file from the library. It just would not show up in the editor.I'm wondering if the "Quotes" are the problem. Though I don't know why they would be. I went through in wordpad and at least elinimated the space between the marker name (markername)or in most cases replaced with a cryptic name and then deleted the qoutes.( your "Millerstown Quad" changed to MTwnquad with no "")Again I don't know the why, but the other thing I did was added 00 on the end of every coordinate. I did this because I pasted those markers into marker files I had created using convert3 and the decimal places in convert3 go out to six places.
Then everything loaded. Go figure! And of course make sure to save as a unicode text file and make sure the name matches exactly the <.trk> file of the route you put the marker file in.Experiment some, like the rest of us have. The mwp2mkr file was in the file library. I can't get in now to verify(all nodes busy) It's called <waypoint converter>. I did send you a copy via email. Pennsyfan2

Apr-05-02, 11:16 AM (EST) 2. "RE: MarkerMaker" LAST EDITED ON Apr-05-02 AT 11:27 AM (EST)I have run into that problem. When you register your map, make sure your two reference points are not on the same line horizontally or vertically. They should be oriented diagonally from each other, preferrably with the reference point on the right lower than the one on the left.Message Areas - "MarkerMaker" – image 1

Apr-09-02, 02:35 AM (EST) 4. "RE: MarkerMaker" Hi,
in the MakeMarker help file it is clearly written that the first registering point should be at the upper-left (NW) side and the second at the lower-right (SE) side. I just obbey the instructions and all markers are fine. From the example you show it is clear that the map (the coordinates) used for producing those markers was not registered correctly.
Cheers!

Apr-09-02, 11:30 AM (EST) 5. "RE: MarkerMaker" The scans from the web were on an angle. I had to use a graphics program on set it up perfectly horizontal and vertical. Otherwise, I was getting false longitude and latitude readings. My route goes from -78 to -77 degrees longitude and this gave the marker progranm some problems. I had, after all, to cross a utm and that is a pain. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
