Apr-01-02, 01:31 PM (EST) "How to create or modify a ground texture...suggested reading?" Hi everyone.....I'm wanting to get a little Georgia red clay into my developing route and am stumped. None of the available textures comes close - is there a simple way to open up the ground cover and change the hue or color, perhaps in MSpaint?ThanksMark

You'll need the two links in there to download the utilities. That thread is primarily a discussion on using custom objects, but there is a how-to on converting ace files. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

If you have TS tools in your utilities folder then you simply load the ace file from the terrtex folder in your route. You should choose an ace tile from the dirt texture or something other than grass or scub. transfer the image to your editing program, photoshop, paintshop etc. then go to the image editor and you should have a change hue or some other thing related to color and then correct the color to what color you want and then reload go back into TS tool and reload the image form the editor and you will have the tile in the color you want. Save the tile back to your Terrtex folder in your route and save it as RedClay or something like that. Use this tile as a basic tile to make the half grass-Clay QtrGras-Clay etc. It is easier than it seems.

Thanks Guys ..I built my route long ago using the default Terrain.ace ( ugh ) and have been slowly converting areas over to other terrain files.I never had a good joiner with terrain ace ... So I always had those ugly lines between the new terrain squares and the original terrain.ace squares ... UNTIL NOW ...I have now created several Half and quarter terrains for terrain.ace that make things like OEscrub, OEgrass, etc, seamlessly join with terrain.ace ... I'm happy, Thanks to this thread.oboe Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
