Mar-31-02, 11:58 AM (EST) "Route Editor Memory Woes Gone" Thanks to a tip from Jim Waggle I downloaded MaxMem from AnalogX and was able to work in RE for two and a half hours. This program cleans up memory leaks and also displays how much memory is free.
The program runs in three modes. I ran it in the periodic clean up mode and my memory stayed at 85% free the entire time I was in the RE.www.analogx.com/welcome.htm When in the site click software at the top of the page
click on system
scroll down to MaxMem and download it.Its less than 150K and does the job. Its free. This thread was started as Jim's tip was in another thread that was not totally related to MaxMem.Im running under XP with 512MB RAM and was having lots of problems before MaxMem. Apr-01-02, 00:54 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Route Editor Memory Woes Gone" Interesting. Ever since I upgraded to XP, I haven't had a memory leak problem. Went about 4 hours in RE the first day with XP before I realized I hadn't had one Black Screen of Death. I used to get them after about 30 min with W98, and that's with 512mb RAM. I only have 256mb DDR RAM now too.....Jeff Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-01-02, 07:13 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Route Editor Memory Woes Gone" Absolutely. I have a tile approaching maximum density, so I expect the whole thing to go belly up real soon, and Murphy says it will be at the worst possible moment.... Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
