Mar-22-02, 09:02 AM (EST) 2. "RE: DYNAMIC TRACK - Where is it hiding?" You can find the dynamic track in the Placement window. The trick is you have to go to the Window selection on the tool bar, and put a check mark on the Dynamic Track window. There is a nice tutorial here http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/tutorials/Message Areas - "DYNAMIC TRACK - Where is it hiding?" – image 1 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-22-02, 09:53 AM (EST) 3. "RE: DYNAMIC TRACK - Where is it hiding?" Thanks for your reply chuckzeiler but I know how to find and use 'normal' dynamic track in the route editor. I have to find the actual location of the shape file so I can add to it. For example, I have built guideway sections (that look nothing like railway line) and need a dynamic guideway section too. I could not see any listing in the tsection file for dynamic track.I hope this makes it clear to anyone able to help.Thanks. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-02 AT 09:59 AM (EST)Lay a piece of dynamic track and then select the I, information, button and it will show the .s file being used.Well forget my idea. I went to look and ones isn't listed? It must be in the tsection.dat file someplace.David Klemm

Mar-23-02, 03:12 AM (EST) 5. "RE: DYNAMIC TRACK - Where is it hiding?" There is no shape file for dynamic track. By it's very definition, dynamic track doesn't have a fixed shape. It's just a bunch of numbers on a world tile and MSTS creates track on the fly as it reads those numbers. Sorry, I know this isn't what you wanted, and I don't know any way to change it to create something else other than regular 4' 8.5" gauge railroad track. There are no references to dynamic track in any of the .dat files that I looked at. I went crazy for a few days trying to see if I could increase the default maximum dynamic track radius to something higher than 2000 meters(you can by directly editing world tiles, but I was looking for a way to do it in the Route Editor) Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-23-02, 06:27 PM (EST) 6. "RE: DYNAMIC TRACK - Where is it hiding?" Thanks jtr1962. It may not have been the answer I was after but it is an answer none the less. I can now put my mind at rest knowing for the time being there is nothing hidden anywhere.I would also have to have changed the minimum radius and angle for the guideway, I think it has a minimum 1km radius.Hmm, lets hope these issues will be resolved in a future release of the game. Thanks again. It has to get it's texture from somewhere. Maybe the search should start thereRegards
