Mar-20-02, 11:28 AM (EST) "Haze in route editor." LAST EDITED ON Mar-20-02 AT 11:48 AM (EST)Is there a way to eliminate the haze in route editor? I broke ground on my Columbia Gorge route last night. I created the tiles and loaded the DEM data from The Dalles west to Bonneville Dam. The first thing I noticed is that it is very difficult to see the terrain detail unless you are very close to it. Although the mountains on both sides of the river show up, it is extremely difficult to tell exactly where the river should be because of the haze and currently everything is still green!(added after original message posted)
A thought just occurred to me. Do the environmental settings in MSTS (e.g. visibility, distant mountains, etc.) affect the view in route editor? Are the editing tools (RE, AE, RGE) an integral part of MSTS or are they separate? I have noticed whenever you exit from one of these tools, it asks "Do you want to exit Microsoft Train Simulator?" It is not unusual to have different front ends for the same core program. Ask anyone familiar with UNIX about the vi editor. I suspect that MSTS might be one of these cases.
