Mar-13-02, 09:40 AM (EST) "World Tile File goes bye bye" Interesting ... I was adding a few trees in a small area of my route, saved the route, ( long before getting the black screen ), came back in to the RE, and everything on one of the world tiles was gone.I went into explorer and looked at the properties of the offending tile, and found it was 34 bytes in size. My empty world tiles are always between 600 and 610 bytes. The backup world tile file was 518KB, so I copied and renamed it, and everything was there when I re-entered the RE, including the trees I had added.( I never got close to 800KB )There were no error messages during this whole thing, and no indication that there was a problem. It was a totally normal editing event and nothing unusual happened, except that everything was gone in the one tile when I re-entered the RE. (except the track wires which come from the *.tit and *.rdb) I wonder what the long term effects might have been of having a world file at 34 bytes, if I had re-entered the RE and gone some place else to work without realizing that I had a problem ?Does anyone know what might have caused this problem, and how a world tile could end up at 34 bytes ? oboe Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-13-02, 07:02 PM (EST) 2. "RE: World Tile File goes bye bye" OK ... I guess the limit is 600KB per tile ... I don't know why I thought it was 800KB ... I tried adding trees to another tile that was approaching 600KB, and had the same results, 34 bytes. ... hmmmm. I'm Wondering why they put a limit on an individual tile. oboe Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
