Mar-08-02, 05:07 PM (EST) "Gotta blue pole I wanna get rid of" It's there, I can see it, I can touch it but I can't get rid of it. How do I get rid of it again? Putting track on it to delete it, not working. Digging a real big hole to get rid of it, doesn't work. I need for it to go. Thanks!Rich Garber Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-08-02, 06:10 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Gotta blue pole I wanna get rid of" Hey Rich-
Do a search (Oh No! Not LK, again.).
Annyyywaaay! I had that problem before and found a solution here. Unfortunatly, I can't remember who posted it. What I remember having to do was find the proper world tile file (where that "Blue Line" is), then find the exact piece of track, and delete it there.
All in all, it wasn't that easy (finding that specific piece of track), but once found, an easy obliteration.
Wish I could help more.Hawk

Mar-08-02, 08:14 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Gotta blue pole I wanna get rid of" Well..... didn't work out like I'd hope. I was able to isolate that bad track and delete it. But to rebuild a track database with signals... came up with all sorts of errors. In the end it looked like the only thing to do was delete all the signals. It would've been simple if I could've just rebuilt the one tile. So what I did was delete all the track and move everything over so I couldn't lay any track right on top of where that junction is. Wasn't the solution I was looking for but I reckon it will have to do.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-08-02, 10:54 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Gotta blue pole I wanna get rid of" In the game you can't see the blue pole. But in this instance, it was at a junction between two track sections. In the game, the train derailed because to the sim there was no connection of the track even though there was. So trying to fix it was a real bear. Well, if that wasn't bad enough, after deleting the pieces causing the crash, I try to replace the track, and it wouldn't because to the track database, there were two pieces of track there. So I gave up and moved the trackage over to the left so any track I put down wouldn't hit that spot. But normally a blue pole isn't this kinda problem.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-09-02, 05:21 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Gotta blue pole I wanna get rid of" Hey All,
My route has a couple of blue poles on the Southern Pacific tracks thru Cajon. The only thing I could figure out was to delete the reference in the world files which got rid of the graphic, then rerouted the tracks around the poles. They've been in there for a while and haven't caused any problems so far but I haven't put in any signals yet. I suppose you could back up real good and try and tweak the tdb to get rid of the offending track pieces, but I think I could decorate half the route with the time spent doing that. So I'm leaving them in there and will be watching what happens with Rich's route.Best Regards

And the editor came back and said I couldn't do it cause there already was a lock (which I assume to be path point) already there. So what I wound up doing was ripping up the track and moving everything over to the right a little bit. Worked out just as good, just hated to get beat up by the editor... again.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
