Mar-07-02, 05:32 AM (EST) "Aqueduct Bridge" Here is my latest creation an Aqueduct Bridgeit comes in three sections - 10 meter solid riser, 10 meter arched riser and a 20 meter arched riser...so that you may configure it to your needs.Message Areas - "Aqueduct Bridge" – image 1Message Areas - "Aqueduct Bridge" – image 2Message Areas - "Aqueduct Bridge" – image 3Message Areas - "Aqueduct Bridge" – image 4It has just one problem and I am noticing this with most of my lengthy spans the rail on top tend to swim due to the color not being solid...it has a texture in it...so how do I fix this other than go to a color only mode? Any ideas?Controll Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-07-02, 05:36 AM (EST) 1. "RE: Aqueduct Bridge" Also, I have made a good discovery....the problems we are having with the Tsection.DAT file can be solved if we all number our files out to 9999 and leave them like this....it may not allow folks who have routes already built to continue them without re-doing the Dynamic track sections, but on my route which has been numbered out to 4003 I placed this bridge in after the fact and on number 3999 and 3998 and it worked without me having to redo my dynamic track sections....this may not be any consolation for existing routes but new routes will not suffer the same fates that some are now with my bridges and Xtracks....Hopefully we are on the brink of fixing this problem.Controll Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-07-02, 07:43 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Aqueduct Bridge" Rich,I haven't even had a chance to read up on the problem so I'm talking in ignorance here, but this sounds alot like the problems folks were having with Xtracks initially doesn't it? Doesn't Okrasa have a program, Horace, to solve this situation? Maybe you can get Okrasa to include routines to, well, whatever it is that's causing the problem. Just don't know enough about this but I am a firm believer we need these bridges your doing. Placing bridges is a nightmare! Not always, but alot of times it is. And one time I just said, 'forget it' and hit the Y key. I placed a very long bridge, in ohhhhh, a little under 2 hours?? Anybody speaking to me during that time died. Keep going! Mar-07-02, 02:01 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Aqueduct Bridge" Yes I do, and the problems and solutions outlined are nothing new but have already been discussed and tested. The solution solves some problems but not others. Horace does these things and XTracks package works along these same principals.
Rick (Controll that is) I love your modelling and I don't mean to discourage you, it’s just that you’re outputting so much theories about things when a little input and thought might actually be good. I think if we could sit down and discuss this over a beer (make that a barrel) would be good but unfortunately that is not possible.
Again, I would appreciate if we could get this discussion into one thread and not the whole forum.
And Rich (Garber that is), love your work too!

Mar-09-02, 05:38 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Aqueduct Bridge" I have found that placing bridges goes much faster if you don't try to place then under the tracks but to find a flat spot near where it will stay and place the bridge sections there. As you place each section, line it up. You won't have to rotate it at all just line it up! This is relatively easy to do. It's the rotating that screws everything up. After you get the bridge lined up( I find the alt+arrow keys very helpful here) then hold down the ctrl key and select each section and you will find they are all selected. Release the control key and as sthe movement button is already in you will find that the entire bridge can be moved intact. You can move it into place then press the rotation button and rotate the entire bridge into place without having to do each part of it independently. As long as you just use the alt+arrow buttons the bridge will not rotate sideways or something. Placing the bridge as an entire section is so much easier.
