Mar-04-02, 11:45 PM (EST) "Ohio & West Virginia Railroading update" After barely escaping the hanging judge's noose, I finally got a chance to get back to work on the railroad. In no time there was a post that John Fowlis release the top secret Manhatten project, his repaint version of the WV&O (left side of the Ohio & WV Railroading) 0-8-0. I heard #405 was just leaving a 1910's built Steel Mill and couldn't resist the opportunity to take some pictures. Sure helps when you know the owner. The trip ends in Devola. We're not on the mainline here. Rather this is a branchline run.
We're leaving the steel mill complex (objects by Nick Fitzsimmons)
Crossing over the tunnel that leads to the Rolling Mill complex
Reaching Devola which is on the Ohio River, just north of Marietta. There's more pics of this run at my site on the Ohio & WV pic page:
www.edmfamily.com/msts/bo2.htmRich GarberPS In action docket #2371, the injunction against the Oh & WV was rescinded and the route will be avialable for public ownership soon (in other words, the honorable 'hanging' judge has allowed us to release the route).

Heya Jason!I'll use 'em as long as you continue working on your route. Didn't that guy accuse me of blackmail? Guess he was right! If this is what you mean there's 5 working coal mines and 1 just off to the right in picture 2 half buried as the Limestone building. Did I hear someone laughing out there?? *eyeing suspiciously*I got the idea out a model railroadering magazine of a guy who did just that. He said he sawed the legs off and used as part of some industry. I though, hey! I can go that too. So I buried the building. You should be able to see it better in one of the pics on the site. But the word 'tipple' is throwing me for saying for certain if you and I are talking the same. But there's 5 coal mines on the route. All are on the Ohio River & Northern side.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-06-02, 10:28 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Ohio & West Virginia Railroading update" The hardest thing about doing a route is staying organized. If you get sloppy during the route (and I always do), it takes a little effort get caught up. All I do for copyright is just include the readme's in their own separate folder. If you look in the EMRR folder if you have the add-ons, you'll see I added extra folders and put the readme's in there. That settles the copyright issue real quick. I plaster the names all over the place whom did the objects because I don't like getting credit for someone else's work. So if they see the paper mill for instance, I don't want to mistakenly think I actually did the paper mill. It can happen real easily because unless you annotate it someplace easy to find, how would the casual non-forum member know? Anyway, this time around I plan on doing things a little differently I think. You'd be surprise how many people did not know there was a manual that came with the EMRR. I should've put a readme text or maybe.. now there's an idea.. I think while I'm writing these things... kinda like a Jim Ward thing only I understand what I'm saying... *chuckling* I can include *scary organ music cuts in* A DREADED POP-UP MESSAGE *scary organ music stops* saying there's a music... maybe have it pop up six times in a row in quick succession just to annoy the WE HATE DREADED POP-UP MESSAGES crowd. Okay.. now what was your question??? *hits back button**pause*Oh yeah.. the way I am releasing it, it will be two routes in one package. However, because I'm releasing the RR equipment separately, you can have it all just one route and use your own equipment.*mischievous grin*Why.. you could in put equipment from the .. oh wait.. that one is gone.. then there's the ICU stuff you could run on it by David Klemm.. or the PU&N ... no wait.. that's Port Rugby & Naaaahhh I'm thinking about by the Judge, or the cheese one, sWISs Central?? Or how about that new one that reminds me of cereal... C-Loops???? LOL! I kill me! You could even take the Metro equipment and run on those on the route but you'd have to make up your own activities.Rich Garber Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
